I'm so furious!!! Update & Photos

Bit of an update:

I've had a response from the PA to the General Manager of the Oracle Centre.

Very sorry to hear what has happened.
Unfortunately no CCTV that would cover the car wash area :(
She says she has forwarded my email to the Managing Director of the Valet Company.
She has given me the 'phone number and email address of their contact at the Valet Company.

So a glimmer of hope :)

I have had no response from the email I sent the Valet company this morning but now I have a direct contact I may possibly get somewhere.

To which the Valet company will reply...........Errrrr sorry Guv'nor we didn't do it and you can't prove we did and you'll never take me alive coppa !

The only watertight line is exactly as Yv said and insist on a before and after accompanied inspection.

You probably drive a more expensive car than the MD......not a good start
the MD has prolly been cut up, intimidated or overtaken by a bimmer.......it's getting worse
the MD has probably been abused by a bimmer driver for having the nerve to use the BMW lane of the motorway..........you've had it !!!

;)

 Yup you're probably right on all counts Brian, but it's still worth a go innit? ;)

/goes off to cut up and intimidate someone for using MY lane of the motorway :D:D:D

Whats that I hear.............a custom user title approaching ;)

To be fair a BMW driver flashed me to come out of a side road this morning! He must have been a new owner - hasn't read his manual yet.

WHAT!!!! Bloody outrageous! How dare he? Totally letting the side down

I think he was probably practicing with his rage lighting tbh Cedric

<<<<<< OI!

Guess I deserve that ;)

And in the distance a faint sound could be heard echoing around the hill tops, it was the strange and somewhat unsettling sound of an evil admin laughing.

;)

Good luck with it Paul.

oh for goodness sake, you mean I have to check EVERY M3 now before I chop its nose to make sure it isn't Paul!! :D

Nah, just look out for the one with the damaged wheels LOL

Another update folks:

(and this one's a surprise!)

Had an email this morning from Clare at the Valet company - very apologetic that this has occurred. Can we have some more info (time the car was parked etc). We are investigating, can we have your phone number.

I replied with all the info.

Have just had a 'phone call from her. Their area manager is coming to visit me either tomorrow or Friday to look at the damage for himself and "discuss the matter with me".

Quite honestly I'm stunned by this  I really expected them to just outright tell me to "go away". Of course they may still do so, but it does appear they are at least trying to be reasonable

Watch this space ;)

Here are the photos I promised. Only camera phone jobbies

Thats good news, hopefully you can get something sorted with them.

Your not driving on that tyre are you though?

Holy hell, it's not like they nudged the curb and stopped either, that's been ground round and round by the looks of it.

But the fact they're sending someone to you is amazing. A hand wash in Loughborough scratched a load of paint on my car, and their repsonse was just as someone else suggested: 'You can't prove it, so sod off'. This being said by a short grumpy little oik, surrounded by larger, even uglier oiks who had the shared IQ similar to that of the sponge one of them was holding.

Yeah I've had a tyre company check it out. It's only cut the lip which is there to protect the wheel so not a problem apparently. I'm still going to try and get a new one out of them though ;)

Just don't ask for free car wahses for life. Ask for the head of the idiot who kerbed it to be served to you on a silver platter. With chips.

Holy kerb scrapes!! that is a lot worse than I imagined it to be, tyre as well. looks like they "hit" the kerb then scraped it trying to manoeuvre away from it.

Best of luck, hope you get a result.

Yeah I agree, they certainly didn't just nudge the curb that's for sure!

Best of luck, hope you get a result.

Many thanks. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic that I might :)

Wheel see :D

:coat:

On looking at it again, especially the damage in the first pic, could it be they have driven over one of their tools, could be some evidence there if the tool is damaged or needed replacing:thinking:

I don't think so tbh. You can clearly see yellow paint embedded in the scrapes, athough it doesn't show up so well in the photos. All the curbs in the car park are painted yellow.

Ah, on my laptop it looked more like rust than paint.

I've worked with BMW's for 30 years now and own a Z4m and 530d. I wouldn't be happy to have that tyre on an M3.
They are expensive enough, so make sure they do buy you a new one. ;)
If you need a statement from a BMW specialists to say its not servicible, let me know. ;)
It may just be the photo that exagerates the damage, but knowing what power the car has and looking at the damage, I would replace.
Besides, you dont want to be paying for it later.....

Kev.

I'll wash ya car for you mister! :D

Best of luck with chasing them up, though it seems they are pretty open with this matter so far.

I took my car into the car wash at the Highcross Multi-Storey in Leicester yesterday, they did a pretty good job overall and I didn't leave the keys with them so no scratched alloys ;)

Wise words Kev, and much appreciated. If needed I will certainly take you up on your offer of a statement.

Just to explain - I had the tyre check out and they said it should be fine but, like you, advised that given the performance of the car it would be better to replace it. My thoughts at the moment are that if the Valet company accept liability then they will replace the tyre through their insurance. If they don't then I will claim against the tyre insurance policy that I have. So either way the tyre WILL be replaced but I'm reasonably happy that I'm ok to be driving on it for now

How on earth could you have omitted the details regarding the embedded yellow paint, quite a crucial detail as it increases the likely hood of it occurring on that car park.

I'd still tell you to do one and learn to drive carefully around shopping parks though :D

I didn't mate, it was in my email to them ;)

I'd still tell you to do one ......

and that's what I always expected them to do, which is why I'm so surprised by their attitude. 'twill be interesting to see how it goes when the area manager comes to visit me tomorrow or friday. You've gotta say, they wouldn't bother to send him out to my work to discuss it if they were just intending to tell me to take a long walk off a short plank

Oh, I don't know....it could be quite entertaining to watch :D

only kidding m8, hope it all goes well
With a cheese coming, it's probably a regular occurrence.

1stly congrats on the new user title :D

Erm sorry I meant to say congrats on getting some form of response at least
Good luck with the meeting and here's hoping for a positive out come.
I must confess to also being "amazed" at th extent of the damage I expected a little "dent" or "chip" not a complete make over!

Hopefully you'll get a result Paul, I'd have been mightily ****ed if it was mine.

Pic #1 is okay but the you could do with upping the contrast and it looks a bit soft.

#2 - not keen on this one, it doesn't look as if much thought has gone into the composition and again it's a bit soft. I've seen you do much better.

:D

Thanks for the honest crit Colin, just what I was hoping for :p  I agree about the composition on #2, I think I should have got the rim more on a third line and perhaps I should have tried shooting from a lower angle :suspect: Must try harder

I'd be surprised to see rust on any alloy wheel!

Of course aluminium does not rust, it is non ferrous, it can of course still corrode, but the fact that it looked like rust to me led me to suggest it had been driven over a rusty tool.

the tyre is dangerous they have damaged the cords which is the strength behind the tyre wall , can cause blow out if it produces a buble on the side wall not very good at all there is def pressure been put on the side wall from the photos and a cut to the tyre makes it worse

It is a very high speed low profile tyre, the rubber that is cut is only there to protect the wheel, although it failed here due to the severity of the kerbing.

I know, and I did read what you were saying ;)

I will hold my self back from making the obligatory "BMW and Rusty Tool" joke.
