Hi Cay.

Welcome to TP  I think you'll find it an addictive place to be, and the locals are helpful :)

Thank you,

I'm already partially addicted :D lol

Hello. :) I'm new as well.

Looked at your site. Very interesting. Going to be pedantic though...shouldn't really be an apostrophe in "Facebook Photo's", should be just "Facebook Photos". :)

But aside from pedantic little grammar things, some nice photos. And nice to meet you!

The title on your page link - The eye of the beholder - says it all. Photography is subjective and you have some good shots there.

Practice and perfection - two memorable words beginning with p

mystic-cay: I've gone and had another look at your site. While I see there's still an ' in "photo's", here's some things I'd say:

- Do you have any editing software? All your photos could do with a bit of refining, I'd say. Simple things like increased contrast, that, as a rule, will always improve a photo (don't overdo it though).

- Only put your very best work on your website. Imagine that you're a brand. Every photo you upload should be able to stand up by itself and represent you. So, for example, I'd say you don't need two of those close ups of pink flowers at the top of your site. You have to be ruthless and cut as much as you can. If you end up with only three amazing photos, that's fine, you'll add more in future. It's important to try and only upload what you think is your very best work. Detach yourself from the photos (i.e. how hard they were to take, just how long you waited for that sunrise, that sort of thing) and ask others' opinions too, before uploading.

-When you take photos always THINK. Try and decide what the focus is saying and therefore what the focus should be. Obviously, you can take two photos of the same thing that say completely different things. You can change your focus, through composition, framing, the actual focal point, exposure, where you put the camera etc. etc.

I hoped that help. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the feedback.

I haven't got any editing software at the moment hopefully will get some soon.

Definitely worth splashing out. They're practically (practically) giving away Aperture and Photoshop Elements at the moment. Both would do a good job for you I reckon. I suggest looking at Photoshop Elements 9. You can download a free 30 day trial and the application won't cost you a fortune if you come to buy it. It does more or less everything anyone will need. It does miss out on some of the more advanced features of Photoshop, but at it's price, it's worth it.
