Hi all, I'm new here having just joined today.

I'm Emily, 36 and I live in a small village close to the Northamptonshire/ Cambridgeshire border. Had my first proper camera (Nikon D3300) for christmas last year. Did a course at my local college to find out a bit more about how to use it, which I really enjoyed. I'm mainly into countryside scenes and animals, don't go out with my camera nearly as much as I would like- but life is busy! Anyway looked online for camera clubs in my area but they all seem to meet weekly which is a bit too often for me- sometimes I don't pick up my camera for a month!! So anyway then I found this site which looks great!

I'm not too sure how I can post some of my pictures though- do I have to create an album? Or can I post directly onto a discussion thread?

And if there's anyone local to me- feel free to say hello.

you can click the 'UPLOAD a File' tab .. and browse to your image on your PC
it has size restrictions...800px.?
there's a free-to-download program called 'Easy Thumbs' which allows you to set whatever size you like (800)
very easy - right-click your image and 'OPEN with...' ......Easy Thumbs -- does an instant copy resized

I prefer to upload to my PhotoBucket account (free) at 1024.. copy and paste into my posting

There's a maximum size of 1024 pixels on the longest size and (I believe) 325KB file size.

If you set Easy thumbnails to 80% quality and re-size to 1024px that will usually get you somewhere near the file size.
