I don't normally get hung up on the aesthetics of a camera - 99% of the time is just a tool for work.

Umm'd and aah'd over the last few days but I've just pulled the trigger on this - probably paid WELL over the odds but when you see something that strikes a chord with you I reckon life's too short not to - I can live with a few days in the dog house ;)

I agree (y)
(balanced with being sensible otherwise with money etc!)

Is there a thread where we can post pretty film cameras? :p

This one really struck a chord with me when I stumbled across it on Flickr

Hi there - my father in law has an olympus trip - not as pretty as this one, not brown- are they worth a bit then?

£20-£30 or so, IIRC. Stonking value for money!

20-30 is the going rate. I splurged £60 on this just due to the fact it's been fully cleaned and serviced and re-skinned in genuine leather.

Don't forget that he sheds every so often...

Is there some accessory colour matching with shoes and handbags going on in this thread or something...lol

I'm all for a bit of individuality and a new wrap but that Contax is making the room spin..:)

They are lovely I have one, keep the light cells covered when not in use though.
I believe once they wear out its game over.

here is mine.

you can also get a thread adapter to use cheep 52mm filters

Lens cap is next on the purchase list.

I did recently see one with a UV filter fitted and wondered how that was possible - I'll have to have a look online for a thread adapter.

You can get filters that fit the Trip directly, 43.5mm. Probably worth it for a filter that's going to be on a lot, like a UV or yellow perhaps. Then a step-up adaptor for your favourite thread (49mm in my case) for the wider range of filters.

ETA Tripman usually has some.

Cheers Chris - I'll check that out.

I could spend a fortune on that Tripman website!
