OK, there might be some on here that remember my thread about buying a D5000 s/h, never getting it, lost in post etc. Well again either I have bad luck or the D5000 is cursed. I found a guy that has one (I bought my D70s off him) and after a fair bit of haggling and my emailing photos it comes down to this: In exchange for my D1X, £220 I get his D5000. I pay the £220 and post off the D1x today and he sends me D5000 when he gets it. This was all agreed last night. I sent him the money, we swaped mobiles, address etc. Now I should point out I have 2 email address, my one for everthing and a paypal one, that is only used for ebay and paypal. So I send him the money paypal, all cool. Then switch off, and post the item today, £10 insured. I send him a txt telling him I have dispatched it and he says, 'sorry deal is off, I refunded you late last night'! I send a lot of txts expressing my confusion/xtreme annoyance and he actually is very cheeky, 'all my fault, he refunded, best contact courier' ! He says he'll send it back once he gets money off me for potage to send it back. All thru, he is VERY clear in explaining that I pay all charges, damned inconsiderate guy! He's still insiting this, and actually said, right 'turning off my phone now, bye' this was after I said it was his fault and can easily point out why. So he expects me to waste over £20 on postage becuase of his stupidity. I mean, why refund the money, and with no message, he had my number and yet insists its my fault! And he's hardly sorry, and almost takes delight in pointing out its 'my fault'! This might be the wrong place for this, but I just feel SO riled by this!

He said its too old. And he has been a bit uncertain, but we had agreed that we'd do it! :'(
 
yes I just checked. BTW he is a photographer and is on a website, I can give you the link if anyone wants to have a go at him!!:D
 
I think I'd be quite happy to pay the extra for return postage to ensure get my camera back, but certainly sounds off to me!

do you have serial number for camera? just to ensure it is yours that gets returned? just a thought :gag:

tks for the advice guys:D! Well looks like I'll have to stump up the postage costs I guess. :( He's saying that if I want, he won't accept it when it comes, and after a while it will find itsway back to me. I mean I bought a camera off him before, and he behaves real stupid. We agreed everything and then he goes and..but thats for another time! These people, you really want to go *****.
 
update, he says he is now ending communication and will not send the D1X back unless I pay for postage. He loves reinforcing that 'I have no choice!'. This really ***** me off, but you get these people so I'm going to keep on harassing him for a few days (til it arrioves) and then pay up.

Could you not book him for some photos, then at the last minute cancel after he has travelled or at least lost that days work.


Seems rather poetic justice, bloody well know i would even if it cost me a few quid
 
Update! Would you believe it, I got a txt off him saying that he's just seen some photos he took with his old D50!?? and the deal is back on! No such thing as can I, and he only knocked off a fiver for all the stress! Ah well, he says he's posted the D5k today, so I'm happy. Still, he is a nice guy, just sometimes behaves/treats me! like a complete a***! :)

Right I feel like strangling Lawrie Richardson!! :X We're fine chatting away on email, then out the blue he says, right my lad, been playing around with the D1x that arrived today and unfortunately he's not happy with the quality and says its is rubbish. Posting it back tomorrow. Arse***! :X I say, you kidding cause last night on the phone I asked if it was definite and he said promised it was. I said he couldn't do this and treat me this way, and says he can do what the hell he likes. try ringing him, but keeps screening me, finally sends me an offensive text, teling me to P*** off! Anyway, he's refunded me, but you guys were right he's an absolute idiot, the way he behaves changing his mind out of the blue, you'd think he's on drugs! Anyway, thats it, am selling the D1X on here to rational person as soon as it gets back. :(
 
Sounds like he has a split personality disorder - or he's just really bad at knowing what he wants.

Is he married?
You could imagine the scene - "do you take this woman to be your lawful wedded wife?" - "yes, err no, err yes i do, err cancel that no, actually yes, but then again no, oh yes i do, no, yes, no, yes, i like her sister, no, yes"
 
As much as I left violence behind me a long, long time ago I think I would make an exception for someone who behave toward me as he has behaved towards you.

Tks all :) It has already been sold on here now, (obviously with full explanation here, and that I have not received it back yet and if not happy, welcome to send it back), still I don't feel at all kindly towards Lawrie, especially as I keep ringing him just to give him a piece of my mind, and he always screens me, to the point that he text me saying that the policeman down the street from him advises him that I am harrassing him and to take legal action! ARGGGGG what an a*******!

Quiet you, else i'll find you, and kick you in the nuts, and dont think you are too far away, my sister lives in Hull and i was brought up around there too :lol:

And its not an obsession, its just something from the TV show Scrubs. Plus, it also hurts and is a worthy form of revenge :D :lol:
 
Yes I was thinking that too!.. :D I've been kicked there (embarrassingly, by my 7 yr old brother and 6 yr old cousin Chloe! :D) and its not enough for him! :lol: and as soon as I past my test, will seriously consider driving down and making a day of it! ;)
