Took the dog for a walk up the local woods at the end of my road this morning, thought i would'nt take the camera because the dog always scares everything away. Now the ? is how rare is it to see a dipper up here in scotland since i was sitting watching one for about 5 mins with no camera in hand, so im i going to kick myself for missing it :bang::bonk::bang:
 
Sometimes just watching them and seeing them is good enough

I know for one when I am out with my dog I kick my self more when I look at the shots because photography while holding a dog makes for por images
 
Missed opportunity but they are not rare at all in Scotland. I'm sure you'll go armed the next time and get a pic.:thumbs:
 
Would you rather take a camera, and see nothing, or spend five tranquil minutes watching a Dipper at play without a camera?

Whether they are common or not, doesn't matter, I love taking time out of the day to watch wildlife.

I hope you enjoyed the shared moments.

I was withing 20 yards of a buzzard attempting to nail a stoat (in winter ermine coat). It had several goes before the stoat got away .......... no camera !!
Always the same - carry the camera for weeks and see nothing. Leave it behind and that happens.

My trip oooop North intae jockland has been cancelled due to a lack of funds..............:'(
