Im curious -what do you all do?

I'm a support engineer for a company who make Sonars for various Navies. I travel to ships that have problems with our kit anywhere in the world. I also conduct Sea Trials and do refits.
 
Self employed I.T. consultant. Hardware and Internet.

Photography is a hobby for over 30 years now
 
I'm a freelance magazine designer currently working for all about soap.
I take photographs in my spare time, have done most of my life. Would like to do it more, it's the most enjoyable pastime. I'm currently trying to get my act into gear to enter the royal academy summer exhibition.
 
What do I do ? absolutamente nada but lie around the pool in the sun sipping cocktails :lol: (well sometimes)

Gave up work when I moved here to be with my man, he says I look after him and the house and now the dog as well. Gees its hard at times !

I like finding things to photograph, loved all the travelling we did in 2005/6 saw 20 countries in 2 years. Lots of photos (some quite good) and heaps of memories :) I have liked photography since a kid and got a 'free' camera with breakfast cereal packet tops.
 
IT manager for a global company, won't say who as people will badger the hell out of me ;)

i keep busy...

main job is acoustic consulting work and factory management
while im not doing that im also training for a post-grad diploma in acoustics and noise control
and while im not doing that i write for HCC magazine
 
Run my own web design company which is SOOOO much better than working for someone else. At least this way I can set my own hours and go out to take pictures in decent light ;)
 
Work: Hard! Lots of travel around the world and when you don't enjoy flying that's really not as much fun as it sounds!!!!

Play: AV stuff, watching films when I have time and trying very hard to learn more about photography so one day I might be proud of a picture I have taken!!!

Ideally: Win the lottery/premium bonds and buy a house abroad (somewhere I can get to by car!) and put my feet up to really play with my camera!!!
 
Erm....bit different from photography lol, im an entertainer/Singer! so i travel all around every season! but out of season i focus on photography ! xx
 
Formal title would be Systems Support Analyst but these days I don't actually do much hands on techie work (stuck in outlook and on conf calls). I manage a small team looking after approx 250 Wintel application servers for a large bank.
 
I build cars at Toyotas factory in Derby, Well i dont actually build them i stop the bodies going rusty from the inside out. Been there a few years and before that i worked as a techy maintaining a call centre phone system.

Better off at the car plant....i'm just a number and no one rings me out of hours to mend something.
 
Computer analyst and I also build legal documents for large North East company so I won't bore you with software, servers, databases etc.

Just discovered HDR too.
 
I'm a Production Manager for a fuel management company, I have a degree in Electronics and Computers so photography fits in well with all my other gadgets and gets me out of the house away from my PC's!

Pretty much the same but far less successful than Bob! :(

Photography is just a hobby, and I love it although I cannot dedicate much time to it.

Yes, thats right people, we are the ones who create those awful automated telephone systems!!!

Been into photography since I was a nipper and dad got me a Praktica LTL, in about 1982... Dropped out for a few years due to expense (before digital)... now back with a vengence...

No chance of making any money from any of my stuff, unless I pay myself for them :)
 
I build helicopters ;)[well only bits of them really]
I actually work in repair and overhaul on transmission parts at the only Helicopter factory in the UK .

been into photography on and off for the last 30 years
 
I operate remote control submarines (ROV pilot) mainly oil and gas related, it pays the bills and sometimes I get to go to nice places.

Photography is something I recently took an interest in.
 
key holder and caretaker ,gardener,odd job guy so keekpt very busy at times .Photography as a hobby when time allows.
 
Closed my shop in October so now am an It Helpdesk Technician for a FTSE100 company providing internal support to 4000 users with about 14 other people
 
I work Monday, Wednesday, And Friday at a computer store up town. I work self-employed where ever and when ever i get the work. I would still say Computers come first, and Camera comes second :)

Technical Director and 50% shareholder of Personal Finance company. Role mainly includes basic graphic design, and C# .net . Some database stuff too. With other director, manage 4 staff.

Good fun but very very stressful, and photography helps balance things. Complete novice, but I can see it one day becoming more serious.

You should start stocking jags too, got a Lovely XKR in MINT condition, want to get rid for an upgrade. You mention performance cars, would love to get my hand on a 360 modena, maybe 4 years old, are they a safe bet with say 20k miles on the clock? Do services still cost the earth once its older?

Group Accountant but on the up side I do get full access to lots of demolition sites for happy-snapping :D Urban photography eat-your-heart-out when the weather improves! :thumbs:
 
Mobile Operations Manager on the railway, dealing with incidents and mishaps. Anything from simple points failures through to deraillments and suicides.

Oh, and plenty of these ...

I was a roofer
But i have not worked for the last 3 years,
I fell 46ft from scaffolding which collapsed and spent 9 months in hospital with spinal injuries

Just starting to get around on my own two feet as I now have freedom from my wheelchair
And just took up this great hobby 3 weeks ago :)

:eek: Glad you are on the mend. I had a bad motorbike accident many many years ago where I was dragged 40 feet down the A4 under the bumper of a car. The friction put a hole straight through my armour plated boots and tore all the tendons in my ankles :eek: Was very lucky to walk (boots were still supporting my legs! :lol:) away but even the police were amazed I was still alive! Back to normal now but still get sore ankles in the cold. Needless to say I gave up biking and although I miss it I don't regret it. It's good to be back to normal again :thumbs:
