im baffled

Printing on my stylus photo r220 and the images are coming out crystal-but the backgrounds are all kinds phscadelic and wrong colours.

Any ideas

I have been printing through nx and in jpg and have done head cleaning and alignment.

What the hell is going on

post an example, scan it and upload, if you can?
 
cant dont have a scanner lol

its making the light shadows into kinda rust colour

It looks like one of the colours isn't printing properly. Try printing a simple block chart of colours RGB, CMYK and see how that looks.
 
Looks like my cyan cartridge is leaking-could the chip be fooled into thinking there is ink when there is not-because the chip works it out based on the amount ofprinting done-rather than an actual limit
 
Just did another nozzle check and the dark cyan is indeed not printing-so must have all leaked out-blimey.

Thanks for looking guys-I could have sworn it was working when i did a print check earlier.

Anyone know of a link to those bottles that feed straight in to the printer-im sick and tired of the cost
 
Just make sure you don't have one of those little paper tabs left on one of the cartridges - the ones you remove when you load them. ;)

I dont have them on mine-dont remember taking one off and there isnt any on ther-yellow ones arent they
 
Are you using cheapo cartridges, sometimes helps to pin prick another breather hole, use finger on top of cart to rub and locate an indent, it may work.
I got sick and went for off printer inks, saved me a lot of grief and many, many £££s on my R800.

What are off printer inks? Just curious :D
 
A modification that allows you to use big bottles of ink rather than pay huge amounts of money for the dribbles that you get in cartridges :)

nah epson -wouldnt bother with the others-do epson do a ciss system?
