I have a very thick piece of black material that I bought from a market stall. I find it works better than card :)

Hi DRB,

I don't know you, as I've just recently joined the forum. Get well soon.

Here's a joke to cheer you up. ;)

One day Bill complained to his friend that his elbow really hurt. His friend suggested that he go to a computer at the chemist's that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor.

''Simply put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs £10." Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the drug store. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the £10. The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was printed: "You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks."

Later that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction. He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample and deposited the £10. The computer again made the usual noise and printed out the following message:

"Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins. Your daughter is using cocaine. Put her in a rehabilitation clinic. Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer. And if you don't stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better."

;)

LOL excellent!! Thanks for the good wishes and for making me smile :)

Well my first ever visit to the "Out of focus" forum found you and your teddies!
Visited your blog - have to find out about doing this - and so sorry to hear that you have been so ill and just hope you make a speedy recovery. I though after five children leaving home the soft toys would be reduced, but we seem to be getting a great collection of Teddies around the house and it is lovely to have grandchildren to be weakened by more to add to their collections. Have to take some pitures of ours to cheer you and your collection up.

Hey! Thanks for you kind message and for checking out my blog! February is Bears month in my PAD, January was the kitchen and March....who knows! lol Look forward to seeing some of your bears soon! :)

Good idea as it is bloody cold in the garage with the window open to take my pikkies of birds - even with a coffee and my pipe to keep me warm. Thought I would do a quick one of this figure that spent about 20 years in the surgery with me . . . . bunged it on the scanner a couple of minutes ago and took into photoshop and added my greeting!

look after youself.

Hello, DRB. Firstly - great photos on your blog! Secondly, I've been there: ruptured knee tendons (yes, both. At the same time), the zimmer frame (embarrassing), the crutches (awkward), the full length leg casts (itchy), the muscle wastage (skinny), the slow recovery (frustrating), but hey! It ends! One day you'll look back and all you'll have are vague memories of some inconvenience and some great photos of your soft toy collection! Onwards! Keep us posted on your recovery.

Love the nude teddy.

... I dont half feel for you.. Havnt done anything that drastic, but have spent more than enough time in casts and with bits of extra metal work.
Best wishes

Positive news that you seem to have found a good orthopeadic surgeon, and a sad if sensible decision not to take an anaesthetic risk - i spent the last 4 years working on some cases with a superb anaesthetist doing work under sedation on cases that in no way stand a general. We used to call the physios "Gestapo" at Guys when I was a student.

I know the post came late - just for your teddies!
