I'm a bit excited.... just ordered a load of gear - Update

i would cancel the 7D & get a 5D2 instead....but that's just me
that comment seems a bit unnecessary?, the two cameras are so very different and both good at different things, i presume the op would have gone for the 5d2 if he thought ff would benefit him.
enjoy your 7d, mine came on wednesday, still haven't managed to get out and use it properly but it seems great

agree - I got my 7D yesterday and spent most of last night playing and reading. You're gonna love it. I posted recently about 'moving up to the 7D..' and I kept getting references to 'why not get the 5D2'.??!

I have to say thou.. you've had the shopping trip from heaven. :-)

WOW what a kit you'll never need an new camera again :P

Thanks. All you guys with your 7Ds are making me wish my life away till Tuesday. I know its a bad thing but I just cant help it.

Regarding the 7D vs 5DII debate, that has been discussed at length on here and in other forums and I guess will rumble on for some time. It's horses for courses and as far as I have gleaned from reading around, 7D is good for action photography and 5DII is good for landscape and portrait photography, although not exclusively in either case.

As my shopping list may indicate, with the inclusion of a good tripod, gimbal head and a 100-400, I'm after kit that I hope will help with wildlife, airshows, sports photography. Hence the 7D and not the 5DII

I may tap you up for some info on the gimbal head, I reckon that may be a useful addition sometime soon. I look forward to your thoughts on your whole shopping list when it arrives!!
