Ilford Simplicity - which developer?

The Ilford Simplicity developing kit has been going a while now and seems a good introduction to deving your first few b&w films. Of course for doing many, many b&w films it's more economical to buy the chemicals in larger quantities. The kit wasn't around when I developed my first films so have never used it.

I'm wondering what the kit supplied developer is?

Ifosol 3 used at 1+ 9, 60ml developer + 540ml Water

Which I've used a fair bit previously, but I've now bought a supply of several other developers in order to experiment with them and different films. Slowly.

I started out using Ilfosol 3, simply because it was what Camerabase in Edinburgh had in stock when I bought my first set of chems. The developer life is quite short (maybe 6-12 months???); my first 3 bottles all failed before they were empty. My move to HC-110 in 2018 (just finished that bottle) was a revelation!
