Got an e mail from permajet today saying that Ilford Imaging in Switzerland had gone into liquidation. Anyone else heard anything as I think it's a real shame that an iconic company like Ilford go bust, but I suppose that's the way it is today.

I really hope that isn't trrue, it would be a real shame.
The only paper I like is done by them, the Lustre Duo.

Nothing to with Ilford UK

We had a thread about this a few weeks ago

Oh, ill need to stock up on gallerie range paper then... I use smooth pearl and like it

Permajet informed me that they are launching a paper exactly like smooth pearl, so much so you can use the Ilford icc profile for printing. I use this paper for my B & W prints, get cracking results.

All the photo paper vendors will try to push their products and scaremonger people but in actual fact Ilford haven't yet gone bust but are having difficult times and it is a possibility that liquidation could happen.
The same thing happened earlier in 2013 but they managed to hang on with a management team trying to find investors for a company who's products are far superior than most but as per usual everyone wants cheap and Ilford paper is by no means cheap.
If and when they disappear from the market it will be a sad day but at least the cheapo boys will be happy!

Saw the rumour a while ago and have already bought loads of this.. great paper

just got some myself (over 200 A4 sheets of pearl, some gloss and lustre too), will get more on payday :)

This appears to indicate they have actually gone into liquidation: http://infocube.ch/en/c/760946/ilford-imaging-switzerland-gmbh-in-liquidation

FWIW, Premierink still seem to have stock of Ilford inkjet paper at the moment.

For those fans of Gallerie Gold Fibre Silk look at Canspns Byrata Photographique, so close to the ilford product the same profile works. maybe the same product :)
