IGPOTY - anyone else waiting?

Evening all

I wasn't sure where to post this but thought it would be OK in here.

Has anyone received any notice of either being accepted or rejected in this year's IGPOTY competition? I've entered and as of today have no idea if I have failed or gotten somewhere.

Looking over my emails from the last couple of years they are normally quick in either direction. I have seen on Twitter a couple of people saying they had been short-listed but beyond that absolutely nothing!

I've not heard anything either as yet.

Tried to go with something a little different this year and I don't have particularly high hopes.
 
Hmmm. Why on earth do they not just tell us one way or another? I emailed them a week or so ago and I think others did as they quickly posted this:

"We're aiming to let all entrants know the outcome of the competition in early January. Thank you all again!"

If you do a Twitter search on IGPOTY you can find some people saying in mid-November they were shortlisted. Really I would prefer to just know if I haven't gotten away and move on. But I do also need to know as one or two of the images were put in for the SLPOTY.

Edit. Just replied to their response on Facebook. Just noticed that I have 5 images in the IGPOTY that have also been submitted for the SLPOTY. Each one is due roughly at the same time.

It's good form to explain an acronym first time you use it, otherwise you risk alienating an audience :)

I've no idea what IGPOTY or SPLOTY are, and I'd guess I'm not alone :)

OK, for those not in the know, and I'm sorry if I alienated anyone, they are as follows

IGPOTY - International Garden Photographer of the Year
SLPOTY - Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year

I was hoping as most people refer to Landscape Photographer of the Year as LPOTY on this forum that it would be just as easy to recognize the acronyms I used.
 
I think the IGPOTY shortlist was decided quite some time ago and I know someone who received a further email yesterday. I'm waiting on OPOTY to see if any of my shortlisted images made the book and got to the final stage.

I have an image that has made the 2nd stage of the OPOTY (Outdoor Photographer of the Year) so like you I'm hoping to get somewhere.

The IGPOTY is starting to frustrate me a little. I always ask for feedback and last year's was bewildering for me. I had one described as "superb" by the head judge and yet it didn't get anywhere at all. That's all the feedback I got on it so I just sit there and wonder.

Yep I've heard this about IGPOTY, seems it's not very well organised at all!
 
First year I entered I didn't get anywhere but had the feedback that it was nice to see images that weren't overprocessed.

The next year, didn't get anywhere but this time the feedback said the images were overprocessed. I just wanted to shout as I hadn't done anything different.

Oh, and when I did get something last year they couldn't even give us a copy of the book the tight wads!!! I was told even the overall winner had to pay and that came from one of the staff!!!
