If you won a few million on the lottery what camera would you buy?

For me I think a Leica M9, just to see what the Leica feel is all about!

A brand new car not sure what though, a house and lots of camera gear

Leica for me....

dont care about the picture quality, i will just hold it and look at it and stroke it.... hahahhaa!!

New house with purpose built studio.. drooooool.

hasselblad digital
1Ds MKIII/4 if out
All the good lenses
Studio in my nice new house

half on a hasselblad kit, with a spanky wide angle... half on a round the world trip, to every senic landscape i could imagen ( ah a guy can dream :( )

... or maybe something like this:

would have to get me hands on the old Canon 1200mm f/5.6L EF USM :D just because I could!! then would have a servant to carry it :naughty:

2* D3s, D3x, holy trinity, 300 2.8, 28, 50, 85 1.4, carrier bag full of sb900's, 4* profoto heads and generators and a bag full of mods, production van, loads of grip...

end of....

we can all dream >_<

I would buy someone that can work one and that can carry it around and use it, save me the job |

I'd keep the D3s and D300 and buy more primes. Give by present business to the staff with enough in the bank to make sure they are ok.
Then spend as much time up the hills in Wales as possible.

Nor greedy as I have 4 kids :'( but 5Dmk2, 7D, and range of L's to cover the complete range with crossover between the two camera bodies. Although a new house with a studio sounds good to the wife!! :D

Someone asked me that if I won the lottery what would I do about the begging letters.

........... Keep sending them!

2x D3s, 2x D3x, Nikon 10.5mm fisheye, 12-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm VR2, 105 VR Macro, 300/2.8 VR2, 400VR, 500VR, 600VR, at least another dozen SB-900s, Sigma 300-500mm f/2.8 (just to see what it's like) and a couple of Sony EX3 cameras with 35mm Nikon adapters. :)

I'd hire a photographer to teach me how to do it properly!

I have played this game a few times and the answer is usually as follows
Move from Canon to Nikon because I think those white L lenses make you look a poser

So Nikon D3x
assorted fast zooms

Leica M9 plus fast primes

Nikon FA my favourite all time camera assorted fast MF primes and a few hundred rolls of Velvia

Top of the range scanner

and every OS map in the uk as I will be travelling the length and bredth to get some wonderful shots of the sceptered isle

Camera gear as is but a nice Four wheel drive in case the snow comes back.

AND loads a Guide Dogs for the blind

I wouldn't spend that much money on camera gear tbh - what I have and what I plan on buying this year will suit me for years to come. I would buy a 500mm lens though which isn't on my to buy list this year!

I would rather spend the money of travel, so I can get the shots of the fauna, flora and landscapes that I dream of --> remote areas of China, Himalaya, Patagonia, Yosemite, emperor penguins, blue footed boobies and the aurora borealis (which I have seen, but I want to photograph it too)

2x D3s 1x D700, keep my D300, a better tripod, a better backpack, chasing the light LEE filters to replace HiTech's.
nobody's mentioned getting any EX Sigma lenses, i may get a longer one 500mm.

one i could use on the isles of scilly:)

a few prime telephotos (and a sherpa to carry 'em)
maybe a nice Hasselblad with a digital back and a selection of lenses. And some 5x4 kit (and yet another sherpa, and maybe a mule too)... :)

I doubt I'd be a better tog though, but it'd be fun finding out.

Pretty much any one I wanted...

I'd probably just get a D3s, 12-24, 24-70, 70-200, some primes.

But, I would then spend a fortune on old stuff!!

quite happy with my gear but a 7D and 500mm lens would be nice :)
I would spend money travelling the world photgraphing wildlife:)

After I'd put a few quid toward it and cleared my feet, I might think about buying a new camera.

That's all there is to it, but not just the hills of Wales .. all over the place, if I may!

Keep my kit as it is and spend all my remaining days right there
