If you watch Freeview TV you may be interested this

Wondered when that would finally come into view (no pun intended ☺ ).

I have the BT Box but rarely use it or watch 'live' TV.

With BT expanding their mobile services and merging the EE platform, it will be interesting how they will converge all the frequencies they will be tapping into.

My on-demand viewing is pretty much 100% now and delivered via Infinity 2 BB. So a Roku 3, Apple TV and an Android TV box with an Intel Stick PC (W10) has seen off both Terrestrial and DVD/BR viewing.

My only concern is the less able viewers not unnderstanding what is going on, so hopefully they will get help not scammed.

To me what makes this annoying is the fact that it will make hundreds of thousands of TV's & Set Top Boxes obsolete again if only HD signals are being transmitted. It could also mean that some homes will need a new Aerial.

It took me months to "train" my mother (89 next birthday) after D.S.O. to understand the principals of using her Sagem PVR which will become useless one day soon as it is SD only.

A cheap and easy fix for most people and DVB-T2 boxes have been standard for the last four years or so.

And then once "standard" HD does become the norm, we'll be dealing with 4K wanting to be the next standard.

I can't see us getting 4k TV over terrestrial transmitters, there wouldn't be enough bandwidth and who wants to watch Eastenders in 4k anyway? /shudders

I've never quite recovered from seeing Mary Berry (no offence!) in HD for the first time.

Doesn't bother me as I don't have a telly.

If they do this to the DAB radio service, I won't be happy.

Makes me wonder what is the point of Freeview? All everyone had been doing is retune it every few years.

I used to live freeview but they mess around with it too much. Channels keep moving, got to keep retuning, tuner standards changing....

With fibre broadband it just seems so ancient...
