Excuse the title, hello all. I'm pretty new to the world of photography, just here because I've decided to take it up a bit more seriously and see what I can do.

I'm a trainee tree surgeon and a volunteer/casual park warden so my interests are obviously nature, though a few action shots should be good. I especially like macro as you can tell from the few pics I've put on my flickr page. Just a compact owner at the mo but hopefully will be moving into the world of SLR soon so wish me luck.
 
repeated around here a lot is that the photographer makes the picture, not the expense of the camera

sounds like a job where you can really get out and see life a bit with your camera
I'm a relative newbie here really but welcome from me non the less :)
