and expertly removed the security seal, banding, packaging and then removed the brand new valve and replaced it with your old mouldy one that drips then THANKS.:bang:

Because I never saw this until I had spent £130 and 2 hours faffing about to fit it, seeing it drip worse than the one I had removed. I then had to remove it and take it back to B&Q who then wouldnt believe me until I showed them the mouldy valve behind the brand new tap.

The cheek of some people:bonk:

Wherever you go these days, whatever you do, however fair and honest you try to be .... there's always some scumbag that does not see you as a fellow citizen but as someone to scam, irritate, intrude on and generally drag on.

At least B&Q sorted it but as shrinkage hits the bottom line, we all will pay for that theft in the long run. As we are for the financiers and the bankers (did I spell that right?).

I had an issue with ps3 controller from asda last week. Bought 2 took them home when I took the first one out of the bag it red on it but the controller was black. Looked at the inside and it was broken.

The second one was sealed but was used, luckily they took them back... why do people do that...

similar thing when my girlfriend bought me an expensive set of pc speakers from argos, when I opened the box there was a cheap set inside, box was still sealed but when you looked carefully it had been opened from underneath and re-sealed.
thankfully they were happy to replace them.

probably for the very same reason that you can pop onto a particular well known auction site and purchase genuine seals for S am sung mobiles....

how do I know this? When recently selling my note (still sealed) I had a look on there for prices and most were for seals, not phones!

If it is a ceramic 1/4 turn tap. The next time it starts dripping. Buy a valve unit from a proper plumbers merchant. Easy to fit cost under £15 and last a lot longer.

My wife bought a Ladyshave from the now defunct Littlewoods Index outlet

Not at all happy to find the previous users hair stubble inside the device

Many years ago, I bought a Disk camera from Dixons which didn't work, so I returned it for a replacement. The supplied replacement also didn't work so it went back with a note in the box. The replacement replacement also didn't work so back I went. This time I opened the box in the shop and... out fell my note. Lynton mode engaged, manager called over and refund given. Shop now long gone although the umbrella company still bears the name, albeit hidden behind its initials.

Is that the stubble or the shaver itself?

There are some very strange people around........

A neighbour many years ago was a "collector" of womens' tights. He would snag them off washlines and even asked women if he could have their tights.

He never faced court but one day his mother just said he was taken to a special hospital.

So stubble from a shaver would probably be like stamp collecting for some!

I once bought a Hi HiFi VCR from Dixons it was over £500 in 1988 but was the display model

I was assured it'd only been on the shelf a couple of days

Took it home, set it up , worked perfectly, happy days

while packing the box in the attic I dropped it and a repair slip fell out with a previous owners details on it

they've been prosecuted a few times for selling secondhand items as new

It would seem from what is being highlighted in this thread that rip off Btitain is alive and well!
