If you live in the UK? Youtube Vid.

Interesting video this, I sometimes wonder whether I will get stopped, I've taken a few timelapse videos in public areas in my local town but no-one has ever stopped to ask what it is im doing or to delete something. I always carry my full DBS certificate with me anyway (one I needed for work purposes). Informative though.

If you're on public land you can shoot what you like. No-one can make you delete anything without a court order!

The first sentence of your statement is incorrect and potentially misleading. As the police officer in the video clearly stated, there are places (e.g. some military establishments) where photography is expressely forbidden whether you are outside the fence or inside. Of course, if you are inside without authority then you will have other other things to worry about too :)

This old nugget of "photographer's rights" comes up regularly on here and elsewhere and we would all do well to realise and remember that these are not photographer's rights but that they apply to everyone in the UK, whether citizens or visitors.

Slightly off topic...when I was at school, hundreds of years ago, our art teacher sent us all out into the big wide world with the instructions "draw whatever you fancy" . Two of my mates got on a bus and went to the local RAF radar installation, sat themselves down by the fence, and proceeded to draw the establishment. Within 5 minutes they were inside the base, dragged there by a large contingent of armed base policemen. The teacher got a bigger bollocking than my mates. We found it hilarious.

No you can't, however nothing he was shooting in these clips would be not allowed.

For example, you can't shoot anything that is occurring within the precincts of a court or which is a restricted area under certain acts of parliament.

You also can't shoot anything that constitutes harrasment (so you can take a picture of someone once, but not continually follow them arround taking pictures)
