Yes
Right just wondering.

If you had to what 3 bits of kit would you take out with you?

your camera + 3 bits of kit can be lenses, filters anything.

This will kind of give ideas of what people essential kit is.

Mine would be Nikon D60
1-Kit lens 18-55 still use it quite alot.
2-70-300 Nikon lens
3-Tripod

I normally take these three with me most places.

Depends what I'm shooting and where I'm going really.

If I was going out to the peaks it would be:

Nikon D90

1. 10-24
2. Tripod
3. My bag

(Id take my filters too :p )

Only three...

Canon 50d
1) Sigma 150-500
2) Beanbag

3) (if raining) waterproof camera/lens cover

3) (if not raining) waterproof camera/lens cover, because knowing my luck it's probably about to start raining :suspect:

Does a pack mule count as a single piece of kit?

Camera
50mm lens
100mm lens

Hmmm, difficult - depends on what mood I'm in and what I'm going to shoot.

Either:

FM2n + AIS50mm (for fun)

or

Nikon D60, 18-55, 55-200 + 35mm (holiday light)

or

Nikon D700, 50mm 1.4, 18-35 + 70-300VR (the works)

At the moment though it's mostly just the D700 and 50mm 1.4 that's getting the use.

My camera with 1) 17-55mm lens, 2) SB-800 flashgun, and 3) Phottix Strato trigger set

Depends on what you're shooting, but if you're after a setup that will make you HUNT for the shot and think about what you're doing, it's gotta be 85mm f1.4L and a nice FF body, 5mk2 and a flashgun for me :) I just wish I had any of those ;)

D700
24-70
70-300

yer it just you rushing out not shooting anything in particular what 3 things do you take.

Nice to see afew variations.

450d

(1) Tameron 90mm macro
(2) Sigma ring flash
(3) Lens pen cleaner for when I stuff the end the lens in a bush getting to excited about a bug

At the moment it would be my 400D +

Sigma 18-200
Tripod
Shade 10 welding glass :)

I'm sure this list would be different in a couple of weeks though...

Oly E520, Plus 105mm macro, 50mm-150mm, and plastic bags , one for camera and one to kneel or lay on. ( cos its always wet or rainy ):)

Mamiya RB67, Weston Master IV, tripod.
I'm still in the honeymoon period with the RB :)

Hmmm, for me it would be:

Nikon D700
+
Nikkor 50mm f1.4
Nikkor 105mm f2.8 VR
A Cheese And Pickle Sandwich

Everything I need for a good day out! :)

Canon 40D
1. Canon 17-40mm
2. Sigma 150-500mm
3. Lowepro Rover AWII backpack :)

Canon 1d
1. Canon 24-70 2.8
2. Canon 135 2.0
3. My girlfriend (Does that count as kit?)

"here you are love hold this" also counts as a tripod. ha

some very intresting replies good to see what people consider and every day piece of kit

I guess it would be:
Sony a330
+
50mm 1.8
75-300mm
and
a) If a camera bag is a "must have" and doesn't count as a piece of kit, then I would take the 18-55mm.
b) If a camera bag isn't a "must have," then I'd take my camera bag.

OK, my camera body is a Nikon D5000 so...

If heading out in daytime, I'll usually grab
> Tamron 17-50mm OR Nikon 35mm depending on mood
and, well, that's usually all! If I had to grab three bits I guess I would take both lenses and a flash, but I tend to travel light if I'm just going out and not specifically to shoot.

If heading out and it's likely to get dark...
> Nikon 35mm
> Nissin Di622 MKII flash
> Manfrotto tripod OR flash remote triggers depending on mood

D5000, 18-200, 35, CPL
i.e. My travel kit

D700
plus

70-200
50 1.4
SB900

Hmm, interesting question, I'm going to take a slightly different approach and go for my 'always with me' kit:

1). G12
2). Gorillapod
3). Sunglasses (to use as an impromptu filter in bright conditions)

Since the birth of my son (and all the bits and pieces he requires for any trip out of the house), my kit has had to take up far less space!
