For me it would be the 24-70L 2.:)

i just love the colour of the pictures, the sharpness, oh and wide open, the smooth bokeh :love:
 
Recently got my 24-70, loving it so far, never had a lens so good, so 24-70 2.8 would be it.
 
yeah the 24-70 is a great lens however i dont think i could live with just one. maybe if i did one genre of photography!
 
Probably my Sigma 10-20, as I love wide stuff and the 20 gets you a bit closer, so you don't have to be up the subject's nose all the time.
 
I quite like my 24-105 f4L, it's not as fast as the 24-70 but that extra reach has really proven it's worth to me.
 
My 17-55 coz it's my most used (marginally).

Shouldn't this be in the gear fetishist's corner, i.e. the Talk Equipment forum? :lol::lol::lol:

seriously though my fav lens is, my 100 400 as wild life is the thing i do

On a 50D the 17-55 would be better, but let's not get into the whys and wherefores.. :D
 
My 100-400, Great for motorsport.
 
Zuiko 14-35mm f2. Quite possibly the best lens ever made. Got to borrow one for an afternoon once - if only I could afford my own.....
 
I'd have an EF28-300mm f3.5-5.6 L IS USM just for the 'L' of it (sorry) :help:...

Failing that, I'll stick with my 24-105mm F4L :)

One lens...?

It'd have to be a 14-300mm f/1.0 weighing about 200 grammes and measuring the same as my 17-35...and with the optical performance of a Summicron 35mm f/2...
 
Out of my kit bag, probally the 16-35 2.8L USM... If you've got one you'd understand, it definately needs full frame though. But close competition would be the 85mm 1.8, that lens is delightful

Well if you insist:
In that case, it'd be a 17-35mm on a DX body and a 24-70 on an FX body based on looking at the percentages of my shots taken with both camera/lens combinations over the past five years...
 
Guess would have to be Canon 70-200 L f/2.8 IS USM

Guess we'd all like one of those but blimey, even Olympus aren't capable of that - at the moment! Maybe next year........:D

Mind you, even then we might have to settle for f2, 1kg and optical performance only to Canon L standard, not Summicron!
 
Another for the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM! Aperture doesn't matter if you haven't got the range or stabilisation to keep the photo sharp! Plus it's cheaper than the 24-70...I'm not jealous...honest. :dummy:
 
What's all this fuss about IS anyway - does that stand for 'I Shake' ? :)

Oh the lens - Sig 50mm f1.4 if I can only keep one
 
On crop I would be split between the 17-55 f2.8 IS and the Sigma 30mm f1.4.

Full frame it would be between the 24-70 f2.8 and the sigma 50mm f1.4.

I don't think I could cope with just one lens though in all honesty.
 
If I had the money probably a Nikon 16-85 mm as a good walkabout lens.

Ok not very special, but a good starting place, then add a good telephoto.
 
I like the Nikon 16-85mm VR. It's slightly wider than the norm, and slightly more reach too. The wide end makes the biggest difference. :)
