Yes
...that you crash into the Supermarket flowerbeds.......

you can indeed expect a visit by Strathclydes ''boys-in-blue''

who will breathalize you, and take you away....

even if you ARE the little grey haired lady [in the drivers seat]....:shake:

thank God she couldn't exit the carpark - could have killed somebody on the roads

co-incidentally the Supermarket has signs to say ''Alcohol ONLY sold between 10AM and 10PM

guess the old dear was in for a refill

IF she did manage to buy in her state , the Supermarket should be accountable..?

I am guessing you witnessed more than just the aftermath? if not you have the makings of a tabloid journalist!

pulling into the carpark myself, I stopped at the car - thinking ''off the road due to seizure, stroke maybe''.

An attending passerby said ' No she's totally drunk'
as the Police arrived I pulled out of the way

''if not you have the makings of a tabloid journalist! ''....dont know quite how to take that....

IF she did manage to buy in her state , the Supermarket should be accountable..?

Why? And how would they know she drove there? Did the supermarket ask you how you got there last time you went?

Why should anyone have to be accountable except the person themselves? This is partly to blame for what's wrong in the world today.

IMO, of course :D

In Glasgow? Whereabouts...

If I remember rightly from my retail days it is actually an offence to sell alcohol to a person who is already drunk

that's what i thought ....never mind, it's getting that you cannot express an opinion here - without been taken to task...:shake:

A few years ago we had a delivery driver at work parked up in the car park so I went over and spoke to him, his face was flushed, speech slurred like he was really drunk

Turned out he was diabetic and about to go into a coma , this woman may have been drunk or she may be diabetic , did you see them breathalyse her, the symptoms look very similar, I thought he was as ****ed as a fart

a valid point

from the foul language she was initially giving the helpful passerby -... I'd say drunk

from the way they held both arms and placed her into the patrol car,... I'd say drunk....and no ambulance appeared

tis true about diabetics - my ex was an insulin taking diabetic from 26yo
fortunately, she controlled the condition very well

Can't people on the edge of going hypo get disorientated and sometimes abusive and may not be able to walk unaided?

No ambulance might have meant they've shoved some chocolate bars down her and it's been enough to not tie up an ambulance.

Just saying, it's easy to jump to conclusions..

Yes. hypoglycemia is not pleasant.

....but lets be honest, odds are in favour of the OP being correct in his original analysis of the situation...

Read this thread about Drunk, who can tell who is drunk or not. You may well need a drink after reading it.

Maybe because your OP came across as more of a statement of fact rather than one of opinion?

Could just of been anger/shock at what has just happened

from the way they held both arms and placed her into the patrol car,... I'd say drunk....and no ambulance appeared

Again maybe they were suffering from shock

I remember a story of a guy who once got accused of driving off without paying for petrol based purely on the supposition of other people

i give up

end of my involvement..................................
