If the weather is good, i'm going Dragon hunting! With a difference...

Ooops. I think I've upset some people.

My reply was meant to be delivered in a light hearted if somewhat blunt manner. I think Wail was on my wavelength. I think Messiah Khan was, as well, to a degree...

Messiah could have ripped me apart, and justly so, but he didn't. Instead He replies with lines about a drive across the Alps then down to Monaco. Touche Messiah Khan.... Touche. In my world we call this banter.

Truthfully, if I was given the use of a Hasselblad H3DII, I wouldn't shoot dragonflies, I wouldn't shoot naked models. If I was given the use of a Hasselblad H3DII I would....

Faint!..

such is the aura that surrounds these cameras. I'd be nervous about using a camera with this price tag as well. After all, I have two left feet, and would probably trip over, breaking the thing.

Apologies to any and all, who were offended.

Mark.

I wouldn't worry, Mark - some of us got the joke even if others here didn't...there seem to be some very thin skins around here lately...

Some people really need to lighten-up a little...

I lightened-up once, was in an oxygen tent ... didn't do me much good back then

:( ...you dont know how jealous youve made me :(:p its not quite my fantasy camera, (that would be a hasselblad V system with a digital back) but its damn close enough to make me strongly dislike you :p:D

all the best, enjoy your new toy:)

As it's been discussed about what to use it for, if it's that heavy I'd use it as a door stop while I take some shots with my D300 lol.

I would love to have a go with one of these camera's but I'm guessing I wouldn't have a clue how to use it.

MORE PICTURES

More pictures will follow once I get some spare time. All my weekends have been filled up for a while. But once I get my free time back I want to try some landscape photography with it.

It's a camera, so I'd use it for whatever I like taking photos of. And oh how I'd like to shoot a couple of frames with it...mmmmm...You are a lucky man :D

EDIT:You should do a multi shot panoramic..just to see how big the file size is lol

Lol, don't think my computer will handle that. It didn't particularly like one file, never mind a pano! Although I do want to try a 5"x4" sheet film, scanned at max res on the Hasselblad X1. Now that's a file! Will probably be looking at close to 1Gb.

You jammy git! I remember you talking about these a while back!!

If a canon L series want to go missing.. my backpacks open! *cough*!

May see you around as im out all day fruday and all weekend for that matter!

Haven't been out for a while. This weekend im at a wedding. Will hopefully get some spare time soon. :)

I don't know how I missed your post; but reading that what you've said, I have to say .. I'd love to see what kind of toaster you have, by any chance Porsche Design ?
My Toaster? its a Ferrari and does 4 slices a second complete with built in Sepia filter! (I also have a selection of Hovis filters) LoL

For dragon hunting on a tighter budget, and with lighter artillery, here's something I shot yesterday with my 1.6X cropper and zoom lens....

I want a Hasselblad now too....... That is some serious detail in the dragonfly shot, wow!

Its strange that people talk about the size of the camera, i remember when i went from my Canon AE1 to the EOS 650, couldnt believe the size difference. EOS350/400/350 users, go pick up a 1D, its quite shocking.
I think after using the camera for a while the size will not be an issue, its something we get used to.
Id certainly love one of these. Well done MK for ringing the changes, it makes sense to shoot what you love.
Dean:)
