.......I would have bloody beat every tourist in sight today........

Mission: to capture waterfall in the Kyoto gardens

The reality: loads of bloody tourists with unruly kids who all took turns at standing in front of said waterfall.........the worst culprits where the thirty something Americans who feckin stood posing like an arthritic super model doing selfies.......even when politely asked to give a couple of minutes some other moron stepped into the scene

Please send me a big stick to the following address.........

p*** Poor Planning

Never never plan to visit a popular attraction on a Sunday.

True! It was an unplanned visit but the fact I had manners to allow everyone else camera time just really ducks me off

I feel your pain; however, unless you actually live in the Kyoto Garden, you too were a tourist. :(

See, that indeed makes you a rare breed sir ;)

If you want a tourist free scene you can always go for a long exposure or if you don't want the long exposure look then tripod it is and lots of exposures so you can blend in the various tourist free sections into a single frame

i know exactly how you feel.. i went up there to get some photos last summer and one couple were having a bloody picnic literally on the walkway in front of it.
finally managed to get a few shots after going for a wander around Holland park and coming back later ( only to find a couple of chinese girls being photographed who were dressed up like manga /anime characters ( never got any shots of them felt like a perv just looking at em! )

really need to go back and have a look at the shots i took as wernt happy with them at the time but heres one i managed

So you as a tourist, believe your photographs are more important than any other tourists photographs.

You go to a tourist attraction you get tourists. What did you expect?

Manners and respect.....

so they couldn't take their photos so you could take yours. Yet somehow they were rude?????

seriously, you went on a photographic mission to a park in Chelsea expecting no-one else to be there?. Today or any other summer Sunday

What has manners and respect got to do with it? Unless you believe you have more right to take photographs than anyone else?

Just because I get in the way of your photograph does not mean I don't have manners, I may not have seen you, realised what you where trying to do.

Blimey. Touchy much?
Have neither of you never stepped aside to allow someone a shot?
No real effort involved, just a polite thing to do.

not touchy, just wondering why the OP thinks everyone should move for him? It is a park, in London on a gorgeous (if sticky) Sunday. possibly not the best place to go on a no peoples photo mission ;)

I suspect he doesn't really think that at all, but rather is letting off a little steam. Something you've been known to do if I remember rightly  ;)

I don't expect any thing but manners.....I am kind enough not to hog all the photo ops......it doesn't take much for others to stand aside for a few moments...... especially when asked

Yeah Ok we got it the first time :D

I always try to move so other people can get a shot, but then I am "aware" of people with cameras/ipads etc. a lot of people aren't. I just don't get the OP's ran't, steam letting off call it what you like. I just don't believe anybody has more of a right to take their shot than anybody else does.

Chances are American tourists were on a timed stop, so only had a limited time to take their shot.

Maybe a skill to learn, still getting "the shot" despite all those terrible tourists.

I never once said that I had any more right than anyone else........I just said that I was p***ed off waiting for my turn only to have some other inconsiderate ###### step in and ruin the shot and don't get me started on the Kent off time that they took taking numerous selfies.......

Can we start a poll to change ops name to victor? I swear his threads are getting more and more grumpy :D

(Edit: Makes it all the more funnier that I hadn't read the last few posts)

But yes, tourist attraction in summers school holiday busy shocker.

It's the same reason I try and get out early on the bike before all of the wobbly 3 year olds or dawdling, 4 abreast groups get out.

All I can say is that I am under immense stress to make the world confirm to my rules and regulations......
