Yes
So, I just spent a heart stopping fifteen minutes wondering why my new (to me) 11-16mm Tamron wouldn't autofocus and cursing the £b@y swine that sold it to me..... when I finally realised I'd been experimenting with back button autofocus a couple of days ago and hadn't changed the settings back..... :$

Suffice to say back button autofocus hasn't come naturally.

I bought a secondhand camera and spent a worried twenty minutes wondering why AF wasn't working before realising the previous owner had turned on back button focussing.

Ah! The joys of getting older! (Who said that?) ! I found my glasses on the top of my head the other day but couldn't remember why I needed them!

OMG this is me too.

mine recent idiocy was to forget to pick up 300 quids worth of tripod (when i bought it anyways), after stopping to get some reflection photos. By the time i realised and got back to the spot it was gone. Gutted, but I can only be annoyed with myself. Ordered a 3lt brian to replace it so a costly mistake all told

Well if this is a confessional.... I love the Fuji and Olympus Prime lenses that have the pull back collar for manual focussing. So simple and mechanical and such a joy to use but I assume that every single person who's ever used one at some point has left it in the manual position and been blissfully unaware for many a ruined shot.

I've done that.
Took lens back to shop and they gave me another one.
It was the same.....then I realised....

My Tamron has a focus collar like that too. Its very nice but does slip from MF to AF rather easily, so I look forward to plenty of 'doh!' moments. Perhaps there is something to be said for those horrible, awkward little switches Nikon excels at.

I have tried BBF a few times and can’t get on with it ..thi# is one of the reasons LOL
