Hi,

Dont know if anyone can help, Im just getting into photography and wanted to know if anyone has any idea of some good locations in the West Midlands to take some really good pics.

Any ideas guys ?

To be honest, I like little abit of everything. I like taking pics of people, but natural ones and also buildings. I love quirky places too.
Like i said im just getting into photography so i want to do all kinds of photos and see what turns out the best and what im good at. I also want to practice so i can get better so want just places to go and take a few photos.

thanks

Local Zoo's wildlife parks, any big ponds in the area? Airport, country parks, take a drive out to the country, park the car and head off on foot and see what pops up :D

With a camera you'll soon start o look at things differently, if there's any patches of woodland close to your home just grab the camera and see what you can find...

Good luck and look forward to your findings :)

Thanks Ryan,

Yeh I have sandwell valley ,about 10mins drive away from me,and cannock chase isnt too far either, so might pop down there next weekend.

Just wanted to know if anyone knew any hidden gems in the west midlands

West Mids Safari Park is nice place for animal shots.

If you want a try at street/people photography then Birmingham is a good bet, if it's local enough to you (or any major West Mids city will do.) Usually a few street performers around the city which is an easy and painless way to start street stuff. Birmingham also has some nice buildings as well.

Have a search on FlickR for locations near to you and see where other people have come up with. Other than that rivers, lakes, hills, National Trust properties, football stadiums - opportunites are everywhere. :)

Good luck.

:)

edit:

Just seen your reply and that you are near Cannock Chase. There are two military cemetaries on the Chase that are worth a visit. Nice, peaceful places to take photos, especially at sunset.

Just looked on FlickR Jason and there are loads of pics of buses that must be as exciting as it get rounds here, hehe

Turn your Sat Nav off :D

Just take a drive out turning down country roads you wouldn't normally take with the knowledge that if(when) you get lost your trusty Sat Nav will be able to get you home :D
