Ideas for town centre.

After the recent amount of bad weather i decided to go into my local indoor shopping centre [Telford:woot:] and take some photos in there. I've got some ideas for nice shots - like slow shutter speeds on busy areas, shots of large amounts of feet, high perspective shots of crowds and such - but am unsure of any other types of picture.
So, quite simply has anyone got any nice ideas for pictures in a, hopefully, busy shopping centre? ::help:

Hmmm...this isn't something i'd put much thought into! :bang:
Not sure how i'd go about asking for permission though...i think they recently got rid of the information desk and don't know of any managment office type areas :thumbsdown:. I'll have to try and find a website to give them a quick ring in the morning i think :thinking:.

Does anyone know of what security could do if i couldn't find a way of asking first but took photos anyway? Just want to be prepared against potential of security claiming they can take my camera! [Of course they'd have to catch me first :thumbs:]
 
They can't do anything other than ask you to stop and at worst, ask you to leave the premises. Shopping centres are generally private property so security has the upper hand in terms of allowing you to take pics. Always best to ask first though, just be nice and explain that they are for personal use and experience and not commercial ;) There is a security office somewhere there, that much I do know, just not where exactly, if they have a website, might be worth checking that :shrug:
 
I've just given their webiste a quick browse and found a couple of phone numbers so i'll give them a bell in the morning and see if they'll let me take photos there. Might even be worth offering them a couple of pictures i take, always good to get my name out a bit :D

Naaah Yv... don't elevate them to heights they cannot attain... :)

Permission is usually obtained from the center Management, who in turn instruct security.
 
After ringing this morning it turns out they didn't want to let me take photos - the reason being that they are responisble for thir customers and i might be breaching the data protection act :thinking:
Just wish i'd not asked permission now :thumbsdown: at least then i could of got a few pictures taken before i was asked to stop! :'(

Complete and utter BS from them that is I'd say.
 
I did the kind of shots you're asking about in the St Enoch Centre in Glasgow, just went in, set up my gear and had just enough time to get one good shot before the security guard suggested I leave :lol:

Actually he pointed me in the direction of the marketing office and they were fine with it, as long as permission was obtained first, but that takes the fun out of it :naughty:
 
How about candid portraits of the security guard as he chucks you out? :D
