Hello,

Im wondering if somebody maybe able to offer some advice please.

I've been asked to be godparent to my mates daughter so for the last few weeks have been panicking on what gift i should give. Im hopeless when it comes to buying gifts  In the end i managed to get a nice small ( 3 x 4 inchs ) sterling silver picture frame. I also managed to find a cute photo album that they can keep the christening pictures in. I suggested to one of the jewellers that the pink cigarette lighter in the window might be nice- she gave me the biggest look of disgust :bat::lol:

So heres my dilemma

I took this pic when i was visiting but only had my camera phone to hand. Im well aware its not the best pic by any means- i just think the parents will appreciate it in the frame - even if they do chuck it out after :p

I've been trying to edit it a little in elements

I've seen pictures done similar where only certain parts are in colour and thought this might help disguise the low quality pic - its only got to be good enough for a 4x3 inch frame. What do you guys reckon ? I think if i alter the colour a little it'll look like ive atleast tried. The other thing i was trying to do was remove some of the glare from the legs and face using the clone tool- last think me or the parents need are accusations of trying to toast the child :nono:

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Simon

P.S - i darkened everything but the kid to try and make her stand out a little more. But when it saved to jpeg it all seemed to look the same colour
He he, my edit on the leg makes her look like shes got lumpy cellulite :baby:

I would crop the image to a square like you almost done in the BW version & I would leave it colour and increase the contrast.

Thanks Scott, i do like over complicating things  Im gonna see if i can nip around today and try taking some proper pics- cant polish a turd etc

Thanks Scott. it definitely looks better than my attempt
