I've just had an email from Jessops suggesting that a drone would be an ideal Father's Day gift, and lists a number of models ranging from £449 to £1249 and all with 12 months interest free credit. This presumably means it will be paid for by the time Father's Day comes round again next year, but do any of you expect to get or give anything at that sort of price for this annual trumped-up event?

Yesterday my daughter came round and asked what I would like for Father's day, before I could open my mouth the wife chirped up with "Oh not much, don't go spending your money on Father's day" I didn't get chance to answer. So no drone for me I'm afraid.

A home made card will suffice, and will tell me more about how my kids feel about me than any amount of money spent, and they are always a treat to receive even if they take the p*ss out of me..
There is not a lot of spare cash here, and if there is any, then going for a drink as a family is way higher on my list than a present.

If my daughter turns up it'll be a bonus, if my son remembers to buy a card, it'll be a miracle,
swo no, I'm not expecting a drone or a 5DIII

My dad has suggested car shampoo so no need to buy a drone. My husband will just get breakfast in bed although I may get revenge for my mothers day breakfast in bed which was toast & jam rather than full blown fry up!!

Apparently my 2 year old picked my pressie when she was at a garden center the other day..... the wife thinks it's hilarious, the mind boggles

We'll be expecting photos come Sunday! :)

That was my imeadiate thought too :D

@Russ77 I hope it has a fishing rod, and you have a pond.
Else you will be spending fathers day digging one :D

And the rest of the year being asked for a Nemo/Dory to put in it.

They're crafty little sods :)

She did mention there were model Buddhas... :crying::sulk:
Not quite so bad then, design and create a Japanese garden, is doable in a week-end :D

OMG this is the perfect revenge for the time my husband though it would be funny to give my car eyelashes and when he programmed every saved station on my stereo to Radio 4.
Class!

Saw this and thought of you? ;)

Our son is away in Turkey for the summer, so I'm not holding my breath from him, though my wife will probably find something nice for me. :)

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad massif. :-)

The garden centre was a curveball..... Evie chose the pepper pig boxer shorts lol

Hmm. I got up, made myself some coffee and have been sitting all alone for the last hour or so.
I may take myself off to the gym shortly, then do something exciting, like clean the car later....

OK, OK............. We had a fairly late night last night, both wife and daughter are still asleep as expected (other daughter is in Swaziland on a college trip) and I know 'things' were being done in the kitchen yesterday, and that a table is booked for a late lunch somewhere, so maybe it'll all work out alright !

I'm expecting nothing exciting. I'll get a card for sure but other than that, zero gifts and no plans (that I know of). Happy Fathers day to me! [emoji53]

I think I'd have preferred the garden gnome TBH :D

Well you could have knocked me down with a feather, my son remembered!
No only did I get a sarcastic ( is there any other type?) card but 2 bars of Bournville chocolate ( the only one worth having :) )

Well, our son remembered too, and apparently without repeated prompting from my wife. :D

I suppose you've scoffed them ( the Bournvilles that is ) by now but I could do you a swap for a rather nice cake.

I've had a couple of squares that's all, happy to swap a few squares for a couple of slices

My boy bought me some Bournville too, definitely the best.

i have a large family and get spoilt a bit on fathers day but out of all the cards n presents none of it compares to a very unexpected home made card that kate gave me
i was very surprised by it i just didn't expect it

My four year old brought me breakfast in bed then took me to Blair Drummond safari park. Heaven. £1200 on a fathers day gift in my humble opinion is obscene.

We probably all could but why? Father's Day like Mother's Day in my humble opinion is about kids making cards and doing something for their parents but like everything it's getting more and more commercialised. I would prefer breakfast in bed and a day out with Evan or when he's older a meal with him if he wants to hang about with his old dad.
