Well - I've been out of the photo loop for quite a few years now.
It started as a hobby, with a couple of Olympus's OM-4 and OM -2 then progressed into being a full time job, and swapped over to the ruggedness of Nikon FM and F2. but it's appeal as a hobby drifted somewhat, as I didn't want to pick up the camera or spend more hours in the darkroom in my spare time.
Eventually things took a downward spin and I ended up in a shop then an office job, but did keep my hand in to a degree with an autofocus Pentax SLR, and on the side ran a magazine called Rocket. I did a large proportion of the writing and the photography.
After I passed the magazine over to a colleague I changed to digital, but went to a reasonable compact camera, rather than SLR, due to the price. Photography went to the family happy snapper variety and simple shots of items to sell on auction sites.
Now I am waiting delivery of a Pentax K100D, and if all goes to plan intend to start creating more artistic images again, purely as a hobby. No commisions, no newspaper stuff, just images for the fun of it.
