Who from on here has visited Iceland? Im looking for info on a few things-did you see the northern lights? Was it an organised tour?Did you go to other scenic locations etc? Im looking at a 5 night stay i winter and looking for any info i can get at the moment. Was wondering how successful people were at seeing the lights as the weather plays a big part.Where to stay etc etc....If anyone has good or bad experiences then it would be good to know. Cheers...
 
If you search the meetings forum you should find info on the TPF week there last march :)


(We saw the lights twice but it's very much pot luck)
 
I've been a couple of times on aurora trips to Iceland, but I went on photography workshops with tatra photography. Its a more expensive way to do it I suppose, but it includes flights, transfers, accomm, food and you get taken to the best locations with like minded folk.
Of course they can't make the lights appear at will but you can rest assured that if the lights are on display they will take you to them somehow. They also visit locations during the day so its a week of not much sleep but tons of photography and fun.
