I read of organised photo hide services in Spain that offer the opportunity to see & photograph these beautiful big cats. Certainly something of interest

Mark posted some gorgeous pics, Laurence. Might be worth a chat with a fellow member if thinking of a trip?

see here:

Buddy I'm sure there are other threads of his

Lynx are a personal fav of mine , I've been slightly besotted since coming face to face on Exmoor many many years ago whilst driving a country lane. An apex predator I wish we had here
Lol turned me white at the time

Very high on my hit list, went to Doñana a few years ago with a guide but didn't have any luck (but highly recommended area in general to visit for photography:

Good to hear they've increased in numbers. I think there are a few places where there are hides or guides to help you find them. I think they can still be a bit tricky to find.

The Lynx was a favourite of mine. We made the mistake the first time of thinking that going in summer to water holes would give a good chance given its so warm and they need to drink however they sleep longer and stay in the shade till dark and move about much less- we never saw any. Best to see them Jan/Feb when its colder-more movement and travel to find mates. I still have a few hundred unprocessed images to go through.

Should have said- the guide we used buys up all the hunting licences for miles around so no hunting can go on in the area he guides in. Helps him and the Lynx along with other wildlife. A win win situation that is working.
Are you able to share details of the guide? Sounds like someone who should be supported.

Thanks for sharing that’s such great news we were lucky enough to see 2 at Doñana a few years ago , went on an organised Naturetrek trip
Was amazing will never forget our encounter with them
