Hello to all from the sacred Isle, the original home of the Hawaiians and the Maori's of New Zealand.
To make a long story short, I am a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer and an ex Sperry Univac Field Engineer. I immigrated to Tahiti in the mid 70's married my Vahine and now am well ensconced here in Paradise with kids and grandkids.
My name Maheanuu was given to me on my wedding day by my wife's family, and yes I have gone native. Not only that but I became a Citizen and with that I am now a French National... As far as America goes, I do NOT eat Freedom Fries, nor do I, or will I ever pledge allegiance to any country, Flag or what ever for as long as I have left to live...
I returned to the United States in '98 and thought that I had walked into a new modern Fascist State like what Germany and Italy were in the late '30s.
I stayed there for almost 10 years providing care for my mother until I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and after they removed over a meter of my colon the US Vet administration told me to go home and die.... Well.... I guess my answer to them is, "Sorry 'bout that, but I am back up to my rompin and stompin good health and meanness, and I plan on helpin' drain your economy and help my Real home and country". (Just an onery Frenchman <grin>
Anyhoo, Here I be, and 72 year old grandpa that still climbs mountains, eats cheese, drinks tubs of coffee and kilos of fish cooked or raw...
I like shooting just about everything, but not very good on working with people photos... Flowers, landscapes, whatever is fine, people i haven't gotten down yet.... Perhaps there are those in here who can teach or point me in the right direction... I didn't start this Photog thingie until I went back to Fascistan and my family here wanted to see how life was in the banana republicd... I am still learning and one of these days if I ever grow up, I hope to become a Photographer...
