thanks mate. i am really pleased with that set of street shots, there are more on flickr.

yes, i have taken the plunge. i checked out my first 3 months of this 365 and i have taken all my kit out in a bag once. i used the coolpix loads and the dslr bodies with either 28mm or 35mm primes on. the G1 gives me a 20mm f1.7, the quality is just as good and it fits in my pocket so i will always carry it. no reason not to for the sort of photography i do...

yesterdays in b&w...

this is taken with the 14-45 kit lens!

wicked man i have heard some very good things about the G1's they're even favored over the Ollys, i agree i love the idea of taking out a good quality camera that fits into your pocket, its so practical

cheers, i honestly want to get away from the loads of kit thing. all the photographers i admire seem to rely on minimal kit and i really was not inclined to take my stuff out, hence buying the coolpix which didn't really cut it quality wise. anyway, here is todays effort. 14-45 kit lens again...

111/365 lets go to work...

Nice Ian! really like this self portrait the lightings great and the detail is amazing, what lens did you use for this one?

thanks chris. its the 14-45mm kit lens at 14mm. i am still waiting for the 20mm, delayed due to the volcanic ash situation! self-portrait is easy with this as the rear screen swivels round and you can focus on the eyes and compose everything live so to speak...
this picture is virtually straight out of the camera. a bit of adjusting of contrast and definition in iphoto, a small crop. on my macbook screen the sharpness is fantastic...

great SP ian.. perfect focus and very sharp.. fab light and shadows too..

thanks mich, i was trying for a bit of a hitchcock/film noir thing with the blinds and lighting...

here are the last two days efforts...

thanks. i am really enjoying the G1, i have not regretted the change at all. i love not having big, bulky kit! the 20mm lens has been on the G1 since i picked it up...

thanks, i am really pleased with 122. i like the natural light...

the barn owl is almost straight out of the camera, i had to lighten the shadows a bit to make up for shooting underneath the bird against the bright sky but other than that its untouched. i noticed this as well, its like a halo. maybe its the effect of the light shining on the edge of the feathers...

fab street shots as always ian.. love the barn owl.. wow!

lovely portraits of your son too, love the colour one.. looks mischevious :-)

the G1 looks a great camera!

thanks mich, i am enjoying the G1 a lot, its a great little camera! great having so much less gear as well...
