Photography for beginners from a professional photographer?

Petersmart: thanks mate

Tiler: I have a website, yes. Class myself as professional? Not at all. And as the tag line for the magazine says "great photographs with any camera" I see no reason why I shouldn't enter. There are many photographers on there I consider 'better' and 'more professional' than I

But you charge for photography services...that makes you a professional photographer.

I am just asking about your scruples!

But how many paid jobs have I had? Have I had any? Or am I a beginner trying to BECOME a professional? Or are you making assumptions based on maybe one view of a website whilst knowing nothing / very little about the photographer?

Plus it is also a magazine I buy regularly, so see no reason why I should not enter their competitions

nice - i'm not hyper keen on the oof white thing in the top background , but thats a minor quibble and the judges obviously werent worried by it

Thanks Jack and Moose :)

And Jack, I genuinely have no problem with tiler or his opinions. We're all entitled to our own

Foul, Tom, but you are entitled to your view.

Well done Darren. Many congratulations.

Wow, that's pretty cool! Congratulations!

Nice one.

You were judged a winner based on the submission rules.

Ignore the detractor, there's a regular few on here who seem get off on controversy.

Well done again.

Cheers.

I have noticed a few who like to travel with a big wooden spoon #stirrers :D but as said, each to their own. I don't mind taking on board anyone's opinions

Thanks again everyone :)

Ah but just think what you will think you are entitled to do when you are a pro!
You'll be able to come on here and act like a ****, question scruples whilst throwing your own out the window by making a totally unnecessary t***ty post in the first place......and not following it with an apology.
Its just one long day of putting people in their place in pro land....:|

Well done Darren...

Exactly. Nail on the head.

Well done mate.

Yeah, well done. Lovely shot that clear met the judges' perceptions of the topic.

Congrats, that's a nice shot. Not seen that mag before at the newsstand, will check it out.

Same here, well done, and must look out for the mag.
