Hiya everyone, just thought id ask this here. . .
Im quite new to photography but am having trouble with inspiration. Today I went for a jog on the cliff paths round the island (guernsey) where i live, minus my camera. I came accross a lovley beach with amazing views, great lille rock pools, sand beaches and amazing rocky views. There are some little benches and grassy areas. PERFECT!! However I just dont know what to take pics of to bring out the splendor of the place . . . . . should I just take my camera there and take loads of shots? should I consentrate on one thing? Can I give it an arty slant? HELP ME!!!!! WHERE DO I START????

I love taking pictures from the cliffs here on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. I try to get some foreground interest such as wild flowers etc, and yesterday some fungi, though I have had some funny remarks about that. All in good fun though!

Beaches are also very good but try to get some rocks or other interesting items in the foreground, and watch the skies as they very easily get blown.

As hill walking girl says. But what I find as you visit places on several occasion you start with the wide breath taking views, but as you visit you find more intimate details to take photos off. It's a learning process everyone using this site as gone through.

Start with the more popular places to take photos of. look at local postcards for ideas of these places. Living on guernsey there should be plenty of these. As you find your photos improving of these locations, you'll find your confidence improving and your ability to create photos improving.

Check out the tutorial section of the forums for some advice, this link in this section will help with composing your pictures Rule of thirds

Hey - do something different - take photos of - say red - or triangles - or - you think of something ...

Take pics of everything from every angle ... its easier to evaluate them on screen and that will then give you ideas how to better them when you next return.
