I decided to have a look inside , Its a Pentax K1000 I purchased from that site , Told it was working and as usual it was not
Contacted the seller who said it was working when it left and must have been damaged in the post ( Doh ) this was some months ago , Couldn't be arsed with all the faf so just bunged it on a shelf and left it , UNTIL today

Decided I can't make it worse than not working so decided to look inside , a tiny screw fell out , can't see where it has come from , I only took the bottom plate off so it may have fell out from inside the body and worked its way down ,

It would not operated the lens iris lever and the shutter curtail only closed half way , Now it works as it should apart from the meter , I have ordered a new battery and will see what happens when fitted

Im quite pleased its now functioning :D

Will run a roll of film through it and see what happens after the new battery is fitted

It's often the way with older kit, especially when the mechanicals are over 30 years old (like one of my Pentax MX bodies - which I bought brand new i 1982!l).

I did eventually take it apart to repair the film advance lever which failed. I wonder what I will do with my oldest DSLRs - (EOS 10D & 300D) if/when thet play up! There is something 'living' about the old manual mechanical film bodies.

The K1000 is a living unit. I got my niece one for when she started her Photogrsphy course at Uni at the start of this month. A film convert already.

Will do it the weekend :D

Always a moment to savour......

Indeed!.....................

I have 3 rolls of TX 400 nagging at me.......

Same whining sound....

"It's cold, it's like a fidge in here, you never take me out....."

Wow! we could be married to the same..........................................nah, wouldn't wish that on anyone.

No chance... done it twice - never again!

Rather take the rolls of film out.....

Normally I'm a miserable, unhelpful b*****d but, on this occasion, I'll make an exception.

Send it to me and I'll help you out.
