I want..

Give it time and within few wks when at uni you will find other things to take your mind of her yeh you will see her around and the feelings will come back but as others have said your only a youngster plenty more fish in the sea so get out and have some fun

Cheers for the comments guys! Aye, it's painful, trying to "man up" but not good at just trying to forget - keeping my fingers crossed that it may just work out somehow.. Onwards and upwards!

It's only natural to feel quite rubbish and hopeless after a break up, that's all part of being human.
Heck I've been through it a few times, twice I got engaged and twice I was dumped for someone else all in the space of four years but that was a good few years ago. Now at 46, I've reached that stage in life were I've long since gone past caring about it all . . . even though I still keep in touch with all my exes.
But it does prove that it wears thin in time and it'll be the same as you slowly "get on top of it".
Having said all that, though, it doesn't get any better the older you get when it comes to women in general. :D

PS: I, too, am not a fan of the phrase "man up". People who also says "life is too short" set my teeth on edge.

is it her you miss or just the being with someone ?

If its the former, go and get her back - if its the latter then sort your head out and get out on the pull - you're going to uni shortly which is one of the original "target rich environments" - all those single girls away from home for the first time and looking for a worldly man of 22 to 'comfort' them ;)

people who say grate my gears (especially as the expression is grinds my gears) really boil my ****

If you feel like crying then you need to man up!!:gag:

Rubbish! Only real men cry without shame! :D

To OP - if she's not into you, and doesn't want you back, let time do the healing job, and you'll realise along with that, you are better off. As someone said, if you're not getting on now, marriage will not fix anything, more likely make it worse. As she'll feel trapped and it won't be just a break up then, it'll be a nasty divorce.

nod - I prefer the blackadder line

" I may have the body of a weak and feeble woman , but i have the stomach of a concrete elephant and will drink anyman here under the table"

It's her I miss definitely.. Oh well, I'm going to plod on with uni work and see what happens! Final year at uni now, so not too much partying I'm thinking!

Theres such a thing as too much partying ? :runaway:

Get your arse back to uni a week early and check out all those freshers who need you to "show them round" - "this is the best pub, this is the best club, this is the best curry house, this is the best way back to campus... oh look, by a complete coincidence we're outside my place, fancy a coffee" :naughty:

(they do say that the best way to get over a woman is to "get over" another one ;) )

It's not a nice feeling but it will pass.

At 22 I'd be playing the field for a while.

One day the right girl will come along and you'll wonder why you were feeling like you are just now.

Think we need an agony aunt section started

you're 22 at uni and thinking of marriage? :cuckoo:

Now whilst I am not promoting promiscuity.. it's "totty town!"

If it's meant to be, so it will be.. if it's not it won't.

Been there myself.......

I met Diana and we clicked. I was fascinated with her and she had fallen for my hazel eyes. We saw each other nearly every day for months. She would come to my place and we would discuss books and talk about all the things we enjoyed.

Then one day she said that we would not be seeing each other again, that family circumstances meant she was going to live abroad. I was heartbroken.

Seems her dad had got a job in Canada and they were all emigrating.

She promised to write, she never did.

8 year old girls can be so offish and cruel to boys younger than them. I was only 7 1/2 and lost in fascination.

Oh well, it would never have worked. She probably was not really interested in.my Observers Book of Steam Trains anyway. In that respect I was lucky. We could have been together 50 years on and I bet she would have stolen my books to put on EBay. .....

To tbe OP - boy up - There are more women in the world than men! Go mad and put yourself about a bit. You will find one that will truly be into you. Just don't lend them your books......

Try different scenarios when looking for a partner:
I met a girl at a chess club once. She made the first move.
No, I met her at a camera club. We just clicked!
No, I met her at a driving range. We just hit it off!
No, I met her at the opticians. It was love at first sight!

remember if it floats flies or ****s, rent, don't buy

Bu99er renting, borrow it for free!!!
