To get married! But I don't have my angel anymore.
Help!
............. I'm not getting any younger
It still seems desolate - I'm not getting any younger, and looking at it now I did have a wonderful other half.. Didn't appreciate when I had it I guess. She's 19, 2 years younger to the day, same birthday - we're at the same uni together, had been together about 1.5 years..
.................Man up comments are a bit silly
Sorry were you the only one to say man up
And it is a silly expression
It's a man thing, they all say it too each other.. it's their way![]()

Sorry were you the only one to say man up
And it is a silly expression, he is not, as far as I know, in the military, which is where it originated from
Depend if the are Spring or Spanish onions, some make you cry some don't![]()
tis a quote from Elisabeth 1st![]()
Is she up there at the moment?
And IIRC, that's a MISquote from ER I (and that would be Elizabeth I - no S...))
"I know I have the body of a weak, feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king," (snipped)
No I wasn't the only one to use it.
It may well have originated in military circles but it's usage is not solely confined to personnel there by appointed, employed or utilised. Therefore the fact the OP is not actually in the military is completely irrelevant.
The phrase's deployment, generally as a contemporary vociferation, is widespread throughout various and numerous social, ethnic, racial and linguistic circles world wide.
I repeat it works for me but not everybody will have the mindset to surmount adverse emotional turmoil in this way.
Your opinion that it's 'silly' doesn't make it so. Opinions onions opinions as somebody recently, rather maturely, stated.
