Yes, lots of printers will do "design" (usually layout but it's often OK) for you.

Or you can just print to PDF from any Mac app (and presumably PCs have caught up now).

But....most printers won't be interested in printing 100 cards at a competitive cost. You probably want Vistaprint.

As above. There are several companies with websites that let you 'design' your own card, using templates, and let you choose the type/weight/colour of card you want. Another option is Avery's precut cards that come in sheets. Design your own card, and print them yourself. I've used these in the past and they were fine, but they are also quite basic. I prefer very plain cards, so no problem for me, but it may not suit everyone.

i used to make my own a while ago by printing to photo paper and laminating the printed side only
you can fit 10 cards to a sheet, 10 sheets and you have yourself 100 cards
used to be cheaper than getting them printed at the time

worked for me :)

What programme are you using to design and PDF the card from?

If you want to supply a PDF to a printers for them to print direct from it will need to be set up correctly with bleed and trims, cmyk and 300dpi ideally. Some programmes don't give you these options so the printers may need to 're-do' the artwork anyway to achieve a good quality.

For 100 cards I would suggest they would be printed digitally, rather than litho, so you will be limited to card weight. 250 is the minimum for litho and can be found very cheaply online, if your card has full ink coverage go for a laminated option.

thank you all,
because this is just a little home business venture and I know all my customers well,I just needed a small card with my tel addy etc so went with vista print 250 inc del and vat for £15 so im happy with that.
