I think I'm getting old

depends if you have Baileys in it

Talking of getting old....

My 12 year old niece told me they had been learning about the ''olden days'' at school. When I asked her which ''olden days'', she said the 1980's  That made me feel REALLY old

Reminds me of many yrs ago....My youngest daughter asked me if everything was in black and white when i was her age.......

We're all heading in that direction. Am looking more and more like the picture of my grandfather every day , especially as I tend to be in bed by 10pm!

A few days ago I got a phone call, which turned out to be the wrong number, the guy at the other end apologised to me saying "sorry gramps". I know I'm old, but not that old yet.

Yeah, I know. "Oom" and "Tannie" are - quite respectful - Afrikaans expressions meaning uncle and auntie. I realised I was beginning to show my age when people in SA started calling me "Oom Martyn" and my wife became "Tannie Val"!

My kids (27 and 25) pull my leg about getting older. I remember when they played the "beat the bouncer" game to sneak into clubs when they were about 17. My son and his friends went to a club the other evening, for the first time in ages, and the bouncer said "Sure you want to come in here? It's really for younger people..........". Sweet.

You dirty stop up - I'm lucky if I make it beyond 9pm.

Mind you I spend half the night lying in bed awake.

I still remember the old TV advert "We Are The Ovalteneys" that used to get shown in the late 1970s, although the song itself goes back much further. I loved the taste of Ovaltene...........still do.

I have my cup of horlicks about 9ish evrry night, never really been keen on Ovaltine

 Is that anything like Pilsner Urquel? If so, join the club.

I'm starting to look at younger women and think :naughty:

The problem is the younger women are 45:(

It`s only when you get to 60, you stop looking at older women, and start watching cricket instead.......can you still buy horlicks tablets?

no you can't, I used to love them, my mum used to buy them for me as a treat if I wasn't well, I found that sucking the horlicks powder off the end of a teaspoon has the same effect though :)

My hubby tells me its disgusting hahaha so I do it all the more ;)

Oh YUK

Ya cant beat a nice scrumpy at night and it will make you sleep......well a couple will

A couple of examples

1. Standing in the queue at the bank I looked up at the mirror and thought to myself "That old guys got the same jacket as me" Turning round I realised I was last in the queue.

2. I was in for a haircut the other week and the young Polish lassie wasn't her usual chatty self. The reason being that her parents had come over for a holiday and had left that morning.
I asked if they liked Scotland which they did but she said that her Dad is getting really old now and really misses his grandchildren and he doesn't know if he'll be able to come back and see them because of his age.
She asked if I had grandchildren and I said that at 52 I was too young. Her eyes lit up and said "My Dads 52!!"
That made me feel old

Now where is that thread titled " you know you are old when......."

mmmmmmmmmm yummy loved horlicks tablets and I suck the powder off teaspoon as well

I used to eat it it by the spoonful when I were a lad but never had any for years now, off to Sainsbugs tomorrow and I will be throwing a tin in the trolley:D

My naughty used to be eating sweetened condensed milk out of the tin. Yum
I love Horlicks but drink Ovaltine too sometimes. I dont mind getting old- it certainly beats the alternative.:)

How about a condensed milk sarnie? Mmmmmmmmm

I skipped the Ovaltine last night and had a large Remy instead. Still woke up a 3am but this time with a headache.

Now never had condensed milk sarnies but sugar ones when we were wee

I had a few knuckle sarnies off me Ma' when I was a lad.
