Ok,

I think I have all bases covered for my mates wedding at the end of the year in goa. Here is my thinking so please tell me if you think I have missed anything or should change anything...all tips and hints welcome. Trying to put a checklist together....They are after a more informal, reportage style to tell the story of the day. Probaly a couple of formal family shots too..

For the ceremony
Canon 40D
Canon 400D
Sigma 10-20 on the 400D
Canon 24-105 L on the 40D
430 Ex swappable between the 2 depending on what fill light I need etc (may get a second flash)

For the post ceremony shots
24-105 on the 40D
Alternate between the Sigma 10-20 and the Sigma 70-300 on the 400D - Hoping to get some nice beach landscapes with the B&G with the 10-20
Tripod
430 ex

For the evening
Canon 24-105 on the 40D (seems to be a re-occurring theme)
Nifty 50 on the 400D (f1.8 capabilities should be an added bonus come the candlelight evening dancing etc)

General
6 X 4gb CF cards
Tripod
Off Shoe flash chord
Polarise filters for all lenses
Cleaning gear
Spare batteries
Charger

All opiions and ideas welcome.....

Thnks

I always find a monopod useful for lowlight situations like your reception.

Helps steady the camera without being cumbersome, so you can still move around easily.

not a bad idea fatbob....

Will consider it

umbrella/sunshade on the day from somewhere?
otherwise, you sound pretty sorted.a flash on each camera is a real good idea.
works for me anyway.
you realy havent got time to mess about changing flash from one camera to another.
check the clocks on both cameras have the same time.
makes sorting em later a lot easier.
and yes, you can never have too many spare batteries. particularly for two flash heads.

cheers guys,

great tip re the clocks and dates on both camers. I would imagine that saves a lot of pain later on. Thanks for that.

Cool, feel more comfortable now with what im taking. Dont want totake too much gear but would rather take it and not need it that get there and think oh B**ger!!

May look out for a cheap 430 ex that i can then sell again once the wedding is over.

Think im gonna put my sigma 17-70 up for grabs too as with the 10-20 and 24-105 its a bit of a spare part really.
