Can't believe I've missed these, great series so far Duncan.

Cheers Mark.

Realised I'm a couple of images behind, so here's another from today.

Are you finding this a useful exercise Duncan?

Is it thought provoking? Challenging in an artistic way? Or becoming a PITA?

I've seen others struggle to keep things like this going, and eventually the photography's quality takes a dive because of it. Yours hasn't so far :) And I like the snappy titles too

Dam these are all very very good! -Corinne's Mob, Skylight, Creche and What happened to spring are all winners for me! keep it up! :)

Cheers Toby.

It's certainly a challenge Dave, I'll admit I don't shoot something every day but my aim is to have 365 photos for the year, I don't want to stick something up just because I feel I have to.

It's got me taking my camera everywhere which I hardly did before, and brought back the excitement of getting home and loading up the photos to see what I've got. As I'm sure you know it can get a bit monotonous knowing everytime you're downloading a card there's another pile of wedding photos to process.

Amen to that :D

Though I still find Weddings fun, it was the kids on a white floor/background that did my head in :(

Best photography idea of mine this last year was definitely closing the studio :)

I was on Crash Taylor's workshop last week and he STRONGLY (and repeatedly) advocated taking photos of 'something' every day as a means of staying creative. Looks like I might be dragged into doing my own 52, or even 365, one day

I left a comment on your site about this pic but again I have to say 'Corinne's Mob' is a wonderful picture. The energy in it and the pups expression! Obviously exposure and composition perfect. Would be so proud to have captured that.

Ah thanks Simon, I wondered who it was. Corinne's coming round again today and I have a 12x8 sitting here waiting for her.

I did my back in at the start of the week so haven't been in much of a mind to take photos. I'll have to play catchup now.

...and the creche is a fantastic capture, well spotted! dead or alive stands out for me, does it involve much processing?

Cheers Ian, not a huge amount of processing, the sky was quite dramatic that evening.

Loving the cow - the same shot without the OoF grass would have been so 'normal', but the grass really makes this one :)

It's funny that as a kid (long time ago!) I used to shoot a few images of flowers with OoF foregrounds but stopped when repeatedly told it was a daft or wrong thing to do :(; today, it's commonly referred to as 'Layering' and is seen as giving depth to an image and enhancing them too when done well, as here - how times/opinions change eh :D

I'm actually quite glad you're struggling to do this everyday Duncan as I know I most certainly would, especially as my immediate locality is quite boring photographically. Keep it up though

Makes me feel really guilty I could not even stick to doing a "52"

Stuck in the same office 4 days a week in the dark of winter was not exactly inspiring and there are only so many shots I can sneak at the Trafford Centre at lunchtime and Dave normally rips them to bits anyway! lol

I have such an uninspiring piece of the Uk here it makes me want to bury my camera, not go out with it!

Cheers Dave & Ali.

I have such an uninspiring piece of the Uk here

This is exactly what I would have said before I started this - Norfolk is sooo flat and featureless I've always been uninspired by the local scenery - but that's only because it's so familiar to me. Actually getting out in it and looking for shots has made me appreciate it much more.

That's my problem though Duncan, I am so severely time restricted and work 4 days a week in a boring office and there are only so many shallow DOF shots you can take of a keyboard. It's dull as dishwater and stuck on the edge of the M60 at the Trafford Centre there is just nothing to inspire at all. :shake:

Some brilliant local shots.

'Incoming' is awesome... superb mono conversion.
Heavens gate is also awesome. I remember seeing that cloud too... it really stood out. A superb example of a cumulonimbus cloud. :)

Great shots Duncan.

Checking the Exif data I see your recent shots all seem to be at 50mm. Is this a particular favourite at the moment?

Cheers Neil, it's because my 365 is a 50mm only project - www.365x50.com
