Thanks for that !

what he said
drive a mile in my shoes experts :cuckoo:
i sit there at my crappy govt limited speed getting bored until one of you super drivers does something silly and then my job changes, i then have to decide how best to minimise the carnage you have created because you misread your mail, got your hair straighteners caught, decided that texting at 80 in a blizzard etc etc was acceptable.

no arguments
if you are a HGV driver in this country then you are good or you don't do it long.
you richards in your cars missing junctions and thinking that you can behave how you like are the problem.

GET OVER YOURSELVES and if you want to be proactive make sure that this " poor ickle girl" has the correct confidence and experience before subjecting her to such a dangerous journey.

seriously 30 million cars on the road, 2 million uninsured, 1 million new/ inexperienced drivers every year.
and the lorry driver is a c*nt, really you can only lose sooo much speed before you start going backwards.
:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
whatever gets you through the day you darling people

oh and that camera body or pint of milk that was late and caused you to start a thread here blaming bad service........
it was in a pile up on the M1 because you think your Nigel Mansell.

yours sincerely

a transport manager :nono:

Dear Sir,

Is the attitude of your drivers the same?

If my transport manager believed his drivers had the right do what the hell they liked on the road just because their vehicle is bigger than everyone else then he would not have a job very long.

It scares me that you are responsible (?) for drivers of articulated vehicles and this is your attitude! You also claim to bethe only one who has ever received a complaint? mmmm.... can not see why.

Kind Regards
Distribution and Warehousing Site Manager..............

there you go Timmmeh! :cuckoo:
i fixed your post for you

all i have tried to do is explain that driving a HGV is not as easy as some people seem to assume.

you are tedious, i will no longer reply to this thread and
i pity your TM if you really think that we should all drive without consideration to other road users no matter what size or number of wheels their vehicle has.

Not my opinion, taken from your original post! No fixing required.

"Timmmeh??"

Where did i state we should all drive without consideration for other road users?

Tedious?

sorry i missed that bit ,,,where did he say it ??

ok, let me sum this up. there are ******s who drive cars. there are ******s who drive wagons.

sometimes decent car drivers come across a ****** in a wagon.
sometimes decent wagon drivers come across a ****** in a car.

so, lets hunt the ******s down.!!!

i'm an HGV driver.
we are supposed to be trained to a higher standard than most car drivers.
unfortunately, occasionaly some HGV drivers forget this.
and yes, ive come across some who bully drivers, driving to close.
i would hate to see them have to explain why they flattened a car full of kids that had a blow out ten feet infront of them.
even had one almost run me off the road, while i'm in my lorry.passing me on a motorway, and pulling in with the rear end level with my right earhole.
but most have got a good bead on driving.
i ve also come across some appalling car drivers, who seem to give no alowance for the size of vehilce they are ovetaking/cutting up to get to their motorway exit.
i am a courteous driver, whatever i am driving.
unfortuately, it seems now, there are far fewer courteous drivers on the roads than there used to be.
sadly.

oh. limiters.
northern irish trucks dont have em. fully loaded, and running down hill, trucks will over run the limiters, if drivers let them.
over 60 is prosecutable, but as short period of a minute or so would barely register on a tachointerfering with a tacho, or limiter can get you a rest from work and a big fine.
over the next five years, all hgv drivers will be doing a Drivers CPC.
only costing us about £1000 each.

I think we're all skirting the major problems here.

TRACTORS!

AND CYCLISTS ON DUAL CARRIAGEWAYS!

:D

Lighten up guys, jeez. Some HGV drivers are *****, just the same as some car drivers are *****. It seem to be the opinion of some people here that one or the other group is totally without fault..guess what though? No group is perfect. A lorry driver killed my close friends cousin. And a car driver killed by wife's best friends relative. There are far worse on the roads than lorry or car drivers, and I don't think the type of vehicle makes that much of a difference...

...unless you're on a motorbike :D lmao

my point maybe?

Usually. But then again I'm a total ******.
