I received some news today that blew me away.

Well done!!:woot: Will you still talk to me when you see me at oulton pk next season?

First off - congratulations.

My advice is to keep a journal of your work-experience.

List everything and everybody you shoot.

List everyone you have met with information about those persons.

And finally write down any tips or anything you have learned.

This journal will be a valuable tool in the future and will also be valuable in composing any future resumes.

I also recommend that you keep a copy of everything of yours that has been published. Keep a print and also the full page from the issue in which the picture was published. This will also be a valuable tool when searching for any future job.

Finally, if ever your boss is leaving any job before you do, ask him or her for a letter of recommendation listing your accomplishments while working for this person. This of course, also pertains to you leaving a job also.

YOU CANNOT OVER-DOCUMENT YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS. Don't rely on your memory to compose future resumes and a portfolio of published pictures will count more than just those pictures when applying for any future journalism related position.

BEST OF LUCK IN ALL YOUR ENDEAVORS....

By the way, the above information will be of benefit when your name is famous as a photo-journalist and you want to write your autobiography.

I'm reet chuffed for you Matt

Bob

Thank you Bob!!

Excellent news dude!

Thank you Marcel :D

This is why I hate my local paper, no such 'Send you pictures in' section. I did work with them for work experience via school and you'll learn a lot from the pro's... (atleast I did)

Congrats!

Thank you Tim!!

Excellent news for you young man... Make the most of it.

Will do, thank you!!

Matt,

WELL DONE!

This game is all about being in the right place at the right time, but also its very important to look for angles and contacts. Thats a serious leg up, in fact a bigger leg up than most of us will ever get.

Really well done, you really deserve this break and you've got it.

Don't forget to report back and tell us what its like to be a real photojorno :D
