I'm looking at buying a new 3Gs on a pay as you go scheme to replace my 3G which I have on the same PAYG.
The question I have is ( I'm not technicaly adept in the mobile phone field )
what do I have to do, if it's at all possible, to allow my wife to have my old 3G and use it with her phone number. There must be more to it than just swaping a sim:thinking:
I know i can get this info at the store but i also know how helpful you guys can be which may help my pending embarrassment at the counter.
Many thanks & kind regards, Alan.

I'm pretty sure that would be the case. Have you had a look on the O2 website, they have loads of FAQs for things like that.

Providing you are both on the same network, simply swap the sim. The only thing to watch out for are data charges on your wifes deal. If she has free data then get on with it. If not, investigate a different deal to allow it otherwise any data usage will cost the earth!

Agree with above, if your on the same network just swap the sim. ka$h is correct about data charges as these soon mount up if your wifes sim doesnt have them bundled in....

If your on a different network then thats a different matter.....its possible.....but not for discussion on here

Many thanks for your answers guys, but I knew it would't be that simple for me!!
Guess what, yep, different networks.
Laurie, many thanks....looks like I'm guna have to round up the grandkids to get me out of this one;)
kind regards, Alan

You can now ask O2 to unlock the 3G. If you have been on contract more than 12 months or have owned it for longer than that they should do so for free. Ring up and ask!

It's £15 I think for PAYG customers to have their iPhone unlocked.
