Help required please, my wife's taken her I-phone out of her handbag , and the battery is drained, we've got it plugged into mains supply and it will not charge , every minute or so screen lights up and vibrates , HELP, thanks

Hard reset whilst powered ... Home button and On/Off button together?

Leave it plugged in, then after 15 mins or so, try turning it on and see what happens, it may just come on, if it's drained there will be no juice at all in battery, even to start it.

Tried it Gramps, still the same .
Jango, it's been plugged in for a least an hour and just shows 1% battery

Does it say anything when plugging in the cable?

How many chargers do you have? Have you tried another one? Have you tried plugging the cable into the PC to see if the PC recognises the iPhone?

Has she updated to iOS7 recently? A lot of aftermarket cables now won't charge phones.

Gramps , yes , sure,
Dale_tem, the cable is charging my I-phone 4, on my wife's , the charging icon, top right is showing, and yes the upgrade to iOS7 as been done , we are on a couple of days holiday in the Lakes at the moment so cannot connect into a P.C.
