Hi everyone, what are your honest opinions on the following?

Have you owned both of these Canon 24-105mm F4L IS or Canon 24-70mm F4L IS?

I have just upgraded to the 5D MKIII and I already have the below in my bag:

Canon 100 - 400mm f4.5-5.6L IS
Canon 100mm f2.8L IS Macro
Canon 70 - 200mm f2.8L

Thanks in advance for your help folks!

Jay

This was the very first photo I took using a EF 24-105L F4 IS
Granted it is heavily cropped and resized but when I zoomed in her eyes on the original and saw my own reflection my jaw dropped and this is one lens I certainly intend on owning again.
The focal range makes it a versatile walkabout lens as well.

Meh, I just clicked on the the wrong bloody lens on your poll

The 24-105L is one of my favourite lenses. Would never be without one!

It is true that as you already have the 70-200 the 24-70 seems to make sense. However, I chose the 24-105 (though I also have a 70-200) as it would give me the extra when I only wanted to take one lens with me. Very happy with it and glad I went down that route.

I've owned 2x 24-105s over the years and I loved them both when I had them. I now have the 24-70 F4 and whilst it doesn't have the same reach it is sharper wide open, feels quicker to focus and has a Macro mode that can be pretty fun to play with.

I don't think you'd be unhappy with either lens, but I voted for the 24-70.
