I've got a Yamaha F310 (£90 acoustic jobbie) and I broke one of the strings playing it, and so I figured I might as well replace all of the strings. I play it a few hours a week so not exactly regularly so I'm not too fussed about quality, but I don't want proper rubbish ones. Looking to spend around £5 (heard that's a reasonable amount to spend).

Any recommendations?

Martin FX 11-52. Sound good and are soft and flexible making barre chords a bit easier, handy if you're not a regular player.

Get them here, near the bottom of the page.

Either the bronze or phosphor bronze will be fine, they just sound a little different. It's down to personal preference.

I've got the f310 as well and love it, been learning now for about ten weeks so just starting to play simple songs like the mandatory knocking on heavens door

Thirded, got these on my BH-42. Really nice sound.

It's worth using some Fast Fret, or similar, before & after playing, to keep those new strings in good nick.

They'll last much longer & retain the lovely "fresh" sound longer.
