OK i done a photo shoot yesterday for a kids soccer club most of the shots were in portrait but when i put them in lightroom there showing up in landscape does any one no why

can you put up a screen shot of one of the photos showing it in lightroom?

You mean they haven't rotated? Oddly, my lightroom has suddenly started doing that too, but not all the time.
Hi eve iv'e just uploaded 250 photos from a trip away and no problems here !!! are you 2 using cc?

No, LR 4.2 for me, but never had a problem before and yes, auto-rotate is turned on on the cameras too. Like I say, for me, it seems totally random too, most are fine, but every so often some just showing unrotated and the ONLY pattern I can find is that only seems to happen when I am importing only a few photos, 50 or less. I can import an entire wedding from 2 and sometimes 3 cameras and all is fine.

there you go
i was messing round with my camera the other day do you think if done something

You can rotate them from the 'Photo' menu if I recall correctly, one of the menus anway, but it is a pain. Check the auto-rotate on camera is turned on too, just in case its that causing the issues. Otherwise, I am as lost as you about it.

this has never happend to me before i have about 190 shot like this

what a pain
is there a way to rotate a lot in one go do you no

hmmm...at a guess, try selecting them all, then doing the rotate thing from the menu, see if that will do them all. TBH, I have had so few of them I have only rotated the odd few I wanted to actually edit, so never thought to try a batch rotate. It's LR, pretty sure there must be a way.

i selected them all then went to rotate but it only rotated the first on i selected i have just don it manually with the shortcut keys wasn't that bad actually but i think it was my cameras fault as i had auto rotate off so just tested it on the image i tested stayed in landscape then took another with auto rotate on and went back to portrait so me thinks it was me being thick as s***

Nah, thats not being thick, its just one of those things, at least you know why. I now also have the answer.... you MUST be in library mode to batch rotate, not develop mode. So switch to library, then select all and rotate, it will apply it to them all - I did just test this in my own and it worked ;)

i just tyed this and it only worked on the first image how did you do it

sorted i was selecting them all then going to photo roatate but it would only do the first on but just right clicked them then rotate and it worked

If you zoom out in Lighroom to see the pics as small thumbnails, you can quickly go through and highlight the pics you want to rotate, and then rotate them in one go, either clockwise, or counter clockwise, by either right clicking on the highlighted pics, choosing Rotate from the Photo menu, or Ctrl+[ or Ctrl+] (PC). :)

EDIT Too slow, but at least you sorted it. :)
