i need help with microsoft .net 2.0

can anyone give me advise on how to install Microsoft framework 2.0 it got corrupted and had to delete it now it wont let me re-install any .net is there an alternative?
 
Not that I know of. Does it throw up an error when trying to install? If so google that error and see if anyone else has managed to find a fix. Also, look around for a removal tool, or a cleaner for that bit of software, you might find its a common problem. Personally though, I can't say I have heard of problems with .net framework in the past...
 
ive googled it and nothing and i tried to run the install program and it wont run, when i deleted it using the add/remove prog tool, it wont reinstall it will only repair/uninstall, but when u try to do any of those if crashes, with the error saying that it will be terminated, but no reason why
 
Have you tried to download it from the microsoft site and tried installing that again? I wasn't sure if you meant downloaded it from the internet and tried installing it or if you tried installing it from an already downloaded installer?

You could always do a system restore - I use the .net framework for VB.net programming and I have never had any probs with any of the versions, so I can't offer any advice from that point of view.

im doing a virus check *** ive tried downloading it from microsoft and from various other places.*** i just tried downloading 3.0 that doesnt work either neither does 1.1 or the add on for that. i have also tried a system restore... 3 in fact
 
Maybe something went wrong in the uninstall (or even the original install) and there something left in the registry thats preventing it from been installed again?

Try cleaning out your registry, and then (if you know what you're doing) going through the registry manually deleting any .net framework entries.

But then again, a system restore should also restore the system to before those entries were made.
 
i tried all of that and nothing worked. i even tried to install 3.0 and got this error message

that explains why 3.0 isnt working lol now just need to figure out why 2.0 wont work lol. *** it worked upto the day before yesturday
 
i think i may have sorted it... fingers crossed. ill know when its re-installed. lolaftger ive downloaded it.... lol
